USHERING ECOMUSEUM
Read moreIt was here that the first ecomuseum of France was created in 1968. As you enter the permises, you get the impression that time has stopped. But of the two houses characteristic of traditional housing architecture in Ouessant, only one remains, the second having been destroyed by arson (which affected several sites on the island), in July 2017. If the ground floor and the attic were designed in a very functional way, the interior distribution appeals to the visitor: a partitioning system frees up two rooms of similar dimensions at both ends of the house. One of them, equipped with tables, benches-chests, enclosed beds and a fireplace, is the living room. The room at the other end has the same configuration but its decoration is neat and the woods are worked. It is the ceremonial room of the house, which is only used for entertaining on special occasions. Furniture, objects, engravings, photos and costumes are all testimonies to the rich hours of the island in the last century.
MUSEUM OF THE BRETON BALL
Read moreIt is at the very heart of the Guingamp tourist office that you can visit this original museum created 12 years ago. As a result, it attracts a lot of tourists among tourists who generally find it somewhat unexpected. Boules of all kinds in boxes, unbreakable, wooden gaiac imported from Santo Domingo, spike by hand to play on the snow or ice, synthetic or plastic, loud balls, morlaisiennes, lyon, English or Moroccan boules, and other objects have been collected. The museum is therefore not limited to the Breton Ball which is part of the local heritage. However, the exhibition also highlights the names of large local players. The balls add many memories of the city's inhabitants. But what is the difference between the Breton ball and the bowls? This is the recurring question of visitors to the museum. Visit it and you will undoubtedly have the answer.

But its role is not limited this first activity, for it also offers educational activities in relation to the activity of the house. Every summer, from June to September, L'Imagerie organizes the Estivales Photographiques around poetic themes like "De la même étoffe que nos songes ..." in 2013, or "Le monde vu de leur chambre" in 2011. BRICKMARKING
Read moreThis particular place symbolizes the meeting of the past and present: the building renovated and reinvented for modernity dates back to the nineteenth century! In this former tuilery-brickyard, there is now a museum documenting the history of the bay: fishing on foot, gardening and the activity of the brick of course, but also a space dedicated to temporary exhibitions of contemporary art. Much more than a museum, Briqueterie offers many animations during the summer: giant games for the young public, musical siestes, sculptures of sculptures, street art, multimedia facilities, art workshops, treasure hunts… The easiest thing is to go there.
EMMANUEL DE LA VILLEON MUSEUM
Read moreHoused in the only porch house on the street, the museum itself is an exceptional place that was preserved during the Second World War. It should be recalled that most of the porch houses were destroyed in the fires that ravaged the city in the 17th century and during the June 1944 bombardment. The Emmanuel de la Villéon Museum allows you to get to know this impressionist painter better, namely that he was born in Fougères in 1858. This museum gathers his works, from his first painting at 17 years old on a thick oak door, to one of his last paintings of January 1944. This painter is still known as a renowned landscape painter and an avant-garde colourist who was able to meet the greatest independent painters of his time. Emmanuel de la Villéon has been able to experiment with many styles and influences throughout his career. This collection of oils, pastels, gouaches, charcoals and inks should appeal to painters.
