Managed by an association of unemployed people, Café Paraplyen is open to all. The setting is pleasant, old mirrors, clear walls and candles on the tables, with large windows opening on the street. But don't expect to drink a beer or a glass of wine, this place doesn't have a license to serve alcohol. On the other hand, coffee lovers will appreciate the very cheap prices!

A half-timbered house and a swinging sign, with a sea dog seal... happy! Very cozy atmosphere inside this 400 year old listed house. Enjoy the interior garden or the small terrace along the river Å. The menu features fresh fish (flounder, herring or shrimp). To taste: Baksuld, the West Jutland specialty, salted, dried and smoked flounder, served with rye bread and scrambled eggs. In the past, the fish was cooked in the embers, wrapped in newspaper.

In addition to its unique view of Køge Bay, it's a very popular restaurant. Danish specialties (herring, soup, shrimp), seafood (in summer), fish of the day. The terrace overlooking the harbor is very pleasant.

A very nice bistronomic address, this little sister of KOKS, a starred restaurant of international fame. The setting is warm, the staff very communicative. You enter a traditional house in the old port, with blackened wooden floors and beams. The kitchen works with products caught in the surrounding waters (sea urchins, langoustines, capelin...) with surprising vegetable touches. Grilled fish skin, razor clams with tartar sauce, zucchini and rhubarb salad... and for dessert, a cardamom strawberry vanilla bun.

Between the tables, sale of kitchen utensils, porcelains and decorative objects that only add to the charm of the place. The service is ultra smiling and friendly.

Under the clock! That's the name of this establishment serving traditional dishes served with house beer and old-fashioned smørrebrød. A welcoming, family atmosphere. It used to be a popular spot for workers, who came here to eat with family and friends. Regulars had their own glass marked with their name. One of these was the painter and writer Hans Scherfig, who rarely had enough to pay, so he would leave one of his paintings as a token. Like many addresses on the banks of the Nyhavn canal, this restaurant is housed in a building dating from the 17th century. A setting that has managed to preserve its ancient cachet. Honorable parquet flooring and open fireplace in the room. The cuisine, which is Danish and traditional, favours organic and seasonal ingredients. At midday, the smørrebrød formula is enough to satisfy a small hollow. Otherwise, the hungry will opt for a more substantial dish: grilled meat or seafood. We liked the grilled langoustine marinated in garlic. Heated terrace in winter.

This trendy conceptual coffee has a speciality: porridge! It is made from oat flakes and organic products. And don't think the menu is poor. On the contrary, it shows great creativity. The menu adapts to seasonality. You'll be eating porridge, but a tasty porridge. The instigator of this original place is Lasse Andersen, who had the idea in 2011 to open the world's first porridge bar here in Nørrebro. His goal? To prove to everyone that oatmeal is good, healthy and cheap! The gamble paid off.

This hostel will appeal to all those who want to try traditional Danish cuisine.... And therefore the herring! At lunchtime, the buffet is a good option, not very expensive, as it allows you to taste the different recipes, about ten of them served with small potatoes, rye bread and butter. Finally, to conclude a Danish meal worthy of the name, there is nothing like a glass of aquavit. The house has about twenty fruity or spicy eaux-de-vie in its reserves. Every year in February, the Nordic herring championship is held here!

An institution located in the "Glass House" at the beginning of Storegade. One of the island's most popular café-restaurants. Good Danish cuisine concocted by Chef Gunnar. The place gets very busy on Saturdays, so reservations are recommended (by phone only). Open since 2004, this is the home of David Jensin and his wife Annette. Have lunch by the window on the main street side, or retreat to the cosy, quieter courtyard and enjoy the sunshine and the view of the church's magnificent red steeple with its white stripes.

Pata Negra and tapas (the house staple!), duck rillettes, croque-madame, Caesar salad, steak-frites and even coq au vin are all on the menu. Attractive terrace and giant outdoor barbecue! The wine list also features French and Spanish wines, all at reasonable prices.

Perfect setting for a friendly and gourmet experience. Varied and generous traditional pancakes, such as salmon pancake of Daniel Letz. You can also enjoy a quiche/salad, a plate or onion soup; many specialities as well of us! The house of French wines, ciders, local beers and syrups. We will happily finish the meal with a pancake caramel salted butter.

Warm lighting, long tables d'hôtes and high chairs, an address in the popular (but trendy) Vesterbro district where it's good to meet up, renowned for its gastronomic menu. In this small village house, on beautiful wooden tables and under low lamps, you can taste fresh fish and the fionian omelet, fynsk aeggekage, with a mountain of bacon so grilled that it looks like chips covering the omelet. Traditional Danish cuisine at reasonable prices. Very nice welcome from the couple, with a view on the counter frequented by local customers, in short an authentic place. One is quiet, well served and satisfied.

Among the rows of fishermen's huts (all painted a bright red), where the fish is sold retail, a small restaurant is a favorite. It also offers, until early evening, extra-fresh fish (offered as a buffet), cooked traditionally, to be eaten on the wooden tables overlooking the quay, and to be enjoyed while drinking a beer, while facing the Swedish, German, Norwegian or Danish boats, on which the boaters also enjoy the mild weather. Welcome on board. This restaurant is located on the port, in a former Dutch school ship. It is named after Princess Juliana of the Netherlands who reigned from 1948 to 1980. Opened in 1980, this restaurant with its typical setting (with mahogany parquet floors and leather benches) offers Danish cuisine with a French twist. The perfect place for romantic dinners. Enjoy the view over the fjord from the wheelhouse, the highest room on the ship. The view from here is quite unique.

When the weather is fine, the terraces overlooking the cobbled street invite you to sit down. If during the day the atmosphere is rather family, it changes completely in the evening. The atmosphere is much more festive and alcoholic. As for the name of Jomfru Ane, it comes from the story of an inhabitant of the city who was accused of running a school for witches. Of noble birth, she was not burned alive, but only beheaded..

At the corner of two pedestrian streets, Humlechock welcomes you in a good mood. An address where you can eat or have a drink without ruining yourself, in a young and jazzy pub atmosphere. Comfortable benches receive you around tablecloths. Embellished with a terrace, inside you will find a large bar made of long and rounded zinc and leather seats with black all over! The menu offers simple dishes (burgers, salads, sandwiches...) nicely prepared and a selection of 9 beers on draught.

A familiar face looms up in front of this crowded café! Sure enough, it's Gaston Lagaffe himself! And there's a reason for that: Gaston in Danish is Vakkse Viggo. And the restaurant's menu features the great classics of French cuisine: omelettes, galettes and sweet crêpes. Inside, the decor is worthy of a French-Belgian comic-book museum, with panels featuring Tintin or the Marsupilami. And the icing on the bistro's cake, French is spoken... as you'd expect on Copenhagen's most Parisian street!

At Bagelman (or Bagel store!), you will find no less than 12 different bagels: pastrami, crab, turkey, chicken, tuna, salmon... in lunch formulas or by the unit. As many sandwiches or wraps, but you can also enjoy delicious fresh salads (corn, red cabbage, snow peas, remoulade, tomatoes...) and pressed fruit juices. Something to satiate yourself between two visits to change a bit from smørrebrød! You will find them on Istegade next to Enghave Plads. To eat on the spot or to take away.

It is a place out of time that you will find here around this former port police station built in the early eighteenth century. A postcard-like setting on the edge of the canal, facing the boats that glide softly along the quay. To be lived from the terrace or comfortably installed inside, near the windows. A colorful sign draws attention to this wooden cottage set in a small garden, which houses a vegetarian and organic restaurant. It's like being in the countryside and, to complete the illusion, the toilets are also in the garden... An address for ecologists or not, and/or those nostalgic for the flavors of yesteryear. In any case, for all those who love authentic places that don't deny themselves. The restaurant is run by volunteers, so don't expect too much from the service. Live for the moment, it's great fun!

Hansen's Garden is a restaurant situated in an ocean of greenery in Frederiksberg Park, on farms that once depended on the castle. You can come here with family or friends, for lunch in the garden or dinner under the beautiful glass verandah. The recipes of yesteryear are revisited with a few notes of modernity, the plates are copiously served by waiters in white shirts and black waistcoats on checkered tablecloths. Noisy but convivial, crowded Saturday and Sunday lunchtime.

Added to this is a particularly careful selection of accompanying wines.

A three-in-one café: café, dinner, and nightclub. Rather trendy, it is located in the heart of Odense with a view on the monastery of Gråbrødre and its pretty square. It serves an urban cuisine: Caesar salad, burger, club sandwich at lunchtime, menus with international flavors at night. The interior is typical of the taste for Scandinavian design as well as the terrace opened in the beautiful days. The cocktails of the house have a good reputation. The team is young and friendly, the atmosphere is festive but reserved for people over 20 years old on disco nights.

Nice restaurant with a very good quality-price ratio. A very French style with its large posters under glass of old French advertisements (inside). The cuisine remains in the spirit of home with mussels marinière, steak or pepper, onion soup or duck confit. The wines are of good quality. The owner takes the time to talk to his customers, to explain them the cooking he proposes. The plus: you are served an equally refined appetizer before your dish and the menu changes 4 times a year. Convivial terrace outside.

Raadhuskroen, translated as "the mayor's crown", is an inn that recalls the past. From the street, the sign swings gently and creaks. The atmosphere takes us in! Inside: velvet seats and black carpet, small lamps and old leather-bound books on the shelves, the whole is rather cosy. There is a room on the second floor for groups, a courtyard at the back. Musical evenings are organized in the summer. As for the menu: traditional dishes including the famous smørrebrød, very affordable. It is simple, good and copious.

European-style food in this Viking-style trattoria. Ideally located on the waterfront, between the Viking Ship Sheds and Museum and the Youth Hostel. A very nice room with high ceilings, where you can have lunch and dinner in a bright setting, behind the huge windows overlooking the fjord. The terrace is just as pleasant. On the menu: oysters, ceviche, bacala montecado, Norwegian lobster, tartar with French fries, gnocchi... Enough to satisfy everyone with tastes that recall the south.

Feel like a little home-cooked dish? The Saint-Jacques will delight you with its traditional French cuisine. But we mainly come here for the home-smoked salmon, the Impérial Daniel Letz, named after the chef from Strasbourg. A la carte: Jerusalem artichoke soup, braised beef cheeks, well garnished sauerkraut, terrine of foie gras and elderflower jelly... You can eat in the brasserie-style dining room, under the gaze of a Christ on the cross, or on the beautiful, large terrace which in summer spreads out over the small square that gave its French name to the restaurant.
