ANATOMICAL TEATRO
Read moreIn 1315, the first dissection of a human body was held under the leadership of Bolonais Mondino, the author of the first Dissection Guide, and under the high authority of the Church whose representatives installed behind a height trap could at any time interrupt the operation. In this wooden theatre, detachable, which served only the two winter months conducive to dissection, we inspected all parts of the body without ever touching the heart "the soul box" and made discoveries of incredible scientific progress, especially in 1316 with the first dissection of the body of a pregnant woman.

SPACCANAPOLI
Read moreSpaccanapoli corresponds to Via Croce, which continues on the via San Biagio dei Librai. The term also refers more broadly to one of the oldest neighbourhoods in the heart of Naples, with its narrow streets, churches, numerous cloisters and chapels. Take advantage of the know-how of the Neapolitan craftsmen (large ceramics production, wrought iron manufacture, work of stucco for mouldings).
On more than two kilometres of length and only six metres in width, houses, churches, palaces and squares follow, always in a lively atmosphere. Venturing into the Spaccanapoli is entering a theatre of nature, where one becomes both spectator and actor. from the top of their balcony the Italian mamas speak by drying their linen on hanging cords above our heads; craftsmen call on passers-by to bring them into their shops, where all kinds of objects are found; The pizzaïolos fill the street of a thousand and a Mediterranean flavour and make their kitchen to the greedy. children play football and drivers ring the engine of their vespa to try to sneak. Take a break at the terrace of the café Scaturchio, on the square of San Domenico Maggiore to better appreciate what is going on and do not forget to taste some of their delicious pastries, such as their very famous babà. But the real hidden treasure of Spaccanapoli is located at the San Severo chapel, behind the San Domenico Street, which hosts the Christ Veiled of Guiseppe Sanmartino, a masterpiece of late Baroque.

LEONARDO DA VINCI'S LAST SUPPER
Read moreBy entering the dining of the old Dominican convent, we are facing the most famous fresco of art history, La Cène, da Vinci de Vinci. This fresco (9 m x 5 m), made between 1495 and 1498, represents Jesus to the Apostles the betrayal of one of them. The colours of the Supper did not support the passage of time, because of the technique used by the painter. A great inventor, Leonardo did not paint "a fresco" (fresh) but, in order to modify the work as he pleases, he used on a dry wall a mixture of oil pigments. Twenty years later, moisture and dirt had already altered the masterpiece. The Supper underwent several restorations over the centuries, up to the one that came up nearly twenty years ago and made her splendour and original colours. It should be noted in passing that this restoration has not been unanimous among experts, particularly with regard to the brightness of colours.

BIGO
Read moreThe bigo was a metal crane once used on the decks of cargo ships to lift goods. In 1992, Renzo Piano took up the concept and made it the symbol of Porto Antico. A useful symbol, since it is also used to support the tent in the nearby festival square. A rotating panoramic elevator takes you to the very top of this large, upside-down spider at a height of 40 m, offering one of the finest views of Genoa and the sea. You'll get two full turns, so you'll be able to see the whole panorama.

It is built of massive stone from Istria and has five semicircular arches whose width decreases from the centre to the banks. During the Second World War this was the only bridge in Rimini that was not dynamited, apparently saved by a German officer who prevented its destruction.
