Axel Munthe's patrician residence, now a museum, is an example of a bourgeois villa of the early 20th century
Superb residence of Axel Munthe (1857-1949), a Swedish doctor who settled in Capri from 1887. He published The Book of San Michele (1929), the success of which will maintain the myth of Capri. This patrician residence is very representative of the bourgeois villa of the early twentieth century. It has not changed since its transformation into a museum. See in particular the antique pieces and the numerous masterpieces. The magnificent garden, planted with various species, offers a superb view of the Gulf of Naples. It is listed among the most beautiful gardens in Italy.

La visite la plus incontournable de l'ile de Capri.
Anacapri est la seconde bourgade de l'ile, elle est plus tranquille, en hauteur et c'est ici que s'est installé le médecin suédois Axel Munthe qui a fait de sa villa un lieu passionnant. A l'intérieur, pour les oeuvres d'art et les antiquités intégrées à la décoration soignée, à l'extérieur pour le jardin qui est magnifique avec des vues sublimes sur la golfe. Ne manquez pas le fameux sphynx qui regarde la mer et dont vous ne verrez que la croupe !

Aller à Anacapri et ne pas visiter cette superbe villa serait vraiment dommage,le paysage y est magnifique,très beaux panoramas pour prendre des photos et surtout l'histoire de ce médecin est passionnate

Pour moi, cela ressemble simplement au paradis...
