A remarkable building, hosting the great luxury houses, a few steps from the Rialto Bridge in Venice.
Among the most important Venetian architectural interventions of the 16th century, the Fondaco dei Tedeschi has found a new vocation: a maxi store dedicated to luxury, the 7,000square meters of the building, a few steps from the Rialto Bridge, have been taken over by the boutiques of the Dfs group, a subsidiary of LVMH. The first building, destined to become the counter of German merchants (the Tedeschi), dates back to the 13th century. Destroyed by fire and completely rebuilt in 1506, its facade opening onto the Grand Canal was once decorated with frescoes by Giorgione and Titian now lost. It was the headquarters of the Central Post Office from 1870 to 2008. Architects Rem Koolhaas and Jamie Fobert, in charge of the exterior renovation and interior design respectively, have won the challenge of preserving the Venetian heritage while revisiting it in a contemporary way. This beautiful square-plan building rises on three floors that frame an interior courtyard equipped with a well. More than 200 rooms are thus served. Now called the "Galerie T Fondaco", the building houses the most important existing luxury brands, from fashion to spirits, jewelry and cosmetics. In addition, a whole section is dedicated to Italian products from local artisans. A Michelin-starred restaurant and an art gallery with a rich calendar of exhibitions complete the ensemble. From its roof terrace, the view of the Grand Canal and the rooftops of Venice is magical (reservation required online).

Celui-ci vous permettra d'avoir une vue panoramique sur le centre de Venise et l'accès est gratuit.
L'entrée est gratuite puisqu'il s'agit d'un centre commercial regroupant sur trois étages des boutiques de luxe.
L'édifice avait été occupé auparavant par la poste italienne.
Quand vous arrivez au niveau de la cour intérieure, les arcades situées à chacun des trois niveaux offrent une vue splendide.
Tout est disposé avec beaucoup de goût et de raffinement.
Mon seul regret est de n'avoir pas pu accéder à la terrasse qui offre une vue d'ensemble spectaculaire sur Venise.
Vous avez la possibilité aussi de trouver des produits alimentaires typiquement italien.
