It is the restaurant of the hotel of the same name and a sure value for its authentic Friulian cuisine. The service is fast and the reception of the owner Maria Cristina is very pleasant. We recommend you try their polenta e frico, the house specialty for 40 years, and perhaps the most famous dish in Friuli. It is a cheese cooked in a frying pan with butter or bacon, served in its classic version with cheese and potatoes, and in a version invented by the owner, made with a soft cream of local mixed cheeses.

In Camaleonte, in San Salvario, we eat like at home. In this neighbourhood brasserie, which plays the card of the family canteen, the dishes change according to the arrivals of the market, the service is good frankness, the decoration is simple and warm with a little student air. In a nutshell, it's the perfect place to eat well, and cheap. Piedmontese agnolotti, regionally braised meats, platters of cold cuts and cheeses, good wines, and the unmistakable coffee prepared before your eyes in the small Bialetti mocha coffee maker.

A nod to France in this contemporary bistro on the skyscraper side of Porta Nuova, behind Garibaldi station. From breakfast to dinner, the proposals vary from croissants and creamy coffee with omelettes, croque-monsieur and salads niçoises, to foie gras and beef tartars in the evening. As for the setting, all slate and copper-clad, it evokes the eateries of New York. Fortunately, the cold cuts and risotto remind us that we are in Milan! A very popular address also for brunch andaperitivo.

This very friendly establishment renews with the true tradition of the osteria (bistro). It is a bit like the cafeteria of Marina Romea: at any time of the day, you can drop in for a drink of red wine and a piadina, with or without cold meats. In the morning, breakfast is taken from the buffet which offers bread, focaccia, yoghurt, fruit and eggs. For lunch and dinner, honest cooking with fish, as well as some pasta and meat proposals. Small peculiarity: you pay the bill before you sit down to eat.

This osteria offers dishes of local cuisine in a simple and cordial atmosphere. Rustic room, to which we prefer the beautiful panoramic terrace if the weather allows it. A la carte: platters of cold meats, pasta dishes and grilled meats, all served in generous portions. Seasonal products are favoured: pasta with asparagus in spring, tortelli with squash with a porcini mushroom sauce in autumn. Friendly and available staff. An excellent address serving honest and tasty food.

The Acquacheta was a historic establishment and, in 1822, an inn where travellers and their horses could stop on their way through the Apennines. Today, the restaurant seduces its guests with its authentic cuisine that blends Romagna and Tuscan traditions. On the menu, fresh homemade pasta, porcini mushrooms and truffles in season, beautiful pieces of meat and game. Tasty cuisine and hearty portions. The house also offers rooms, very soberly furnished, but comfortable and equipped with TV and fridge.

The establishment pays homage to Pellegrino Artusi (1820-1911), who was born nearby and is considered the father of Italian gastronomy. He is famous for his handbook La Scienza in cucina e l'Arte di mangiar bene (The Science of Cooking and the Art of Eating Well), published in 1891 and containing recipes from all over the peninsula. The restaurant reproduces the recipes that Artusi had dedicated to Romagna, selecting quality regional products, some of which belong to the presidio slow food. The cuisine is essentially local and seasonal, attached to the beautiful products of its soil, close to the small farmers and producers of the region. It also wants to be inventive with a real aesthetic concern in the plate. The result is a beautiful balance of flavours, a cuisine that is both elegant and tasty. This small restaurant located at the beginning of the climb up to the Rocca Viscontea offers tasty local cuisine. The decoration, a mix of old and modern, contrasts with the medieval atmosphere of the village. Good choice of local wines, appetizing platters of cold meats and cheeses accompanied by torta fritta. Family-run trattoria-pizzeria with a large original terrace, decorated with different tables (wooden, marble, terracotta...) and refreshed by a pleasant sea air. Simple, fresh cuisine at reasonable prices. The service is not constant, however. But the focaccia is unbeatable! The wood-fired pizzas are a great success. For dessert, a schiaccia briaca (typical cake from Elba), made by the mamma, isto try! Claudio Caffieri has been in charge of the Mambo for many years and is a well-known figure in Rio Marina.

Since 1907 this trattoria has been an institution in Piacenza. We come here for its typical, peasant, copious, simple and just delicious cuisine, but also for its incredible atmosphere, authentic and welcoming. A real old-fashioned trattoria, with its panelled walls adorned with black and white photos and its noisy and cheerful atmosphere. On the menu: cold cuts with gnocco fritto, tortelli with ricotta cheese and spinach, cooked and raw horse meat and homemade desserts. It's invigorating, it's good, and it's good value for money.

In an elegant white room with dark wooden tables arranged around a large central column, you can enjoy plates garnished with all the best specialities of the region: stuffed pasta, simmered or baked meats, cold meats and home-made pies. Charming and professional welcome. The room is not huge (reservation recommended), but the tables are quite far apart, which guarantees a quiet and rather intimate atmosphere. Very nice location, terrace in summer, high quality kitchen.

If you have a car, Ai due Platani is the restaurant not to be missed. Located six kilometres from Parma, here you can taste one of the best local cuisine in a traditional trattoria atmosphere, with red and white checkered tablecloths and panelled walls. Traditional menu, but revisited in a modern way, and exemplary products. To taste absolutely: tortelli di zucca, risotto, squab and zabaione caldo with the torta sbrisolona for dessert. Very nice selection of wines. Let the staff take care of you.

A charming neighborhood inn with a bohemian flair. The place is a former picture-framing workshop. Precision craftsmanship continues, this time at the service of guests. The dishes are prepared with great care. Local products are given pride of place. The menu includes baccalà montecato (Venetian cod cream), tagliolini with truffles and bean soup with red radish from Treviso. And for gourmets with a sweet tooth, the establishment now boasts its own café and patisserie, with exquisite creations.

Inside, a small room with an intimate atmosphere, decorated with a large fireplace, accommodates a maximum of 24 people for a local and refined fish-based cuisine. Eel dishes are delicious. In a small street perpendicular to the main pedestrian street of the old Pordenone, you will find this restaurant-pizzeria with a friendly and young atmosphere, with a modern and elegant decoration. On the menu: excellent pizzas, octopus salad to be damned as a starter, fish dishes as specialities, especially delicious and hearty spaghetti or seafood risotto, perfectly mastered. The waiters are efficient and the wine list is judicious, ideal for tasting some regional wines. Good white wine from the house.

In the upper part of the village, not far from Petrarch's house, here is a very nice little address between wine bar and bistro. We go there to sip a local wine accompanied by beautiful cheese boards, cold cuts and bruschette, but also to eat a salad or a pasta dish. A warm and colorful interior room for the autumn days, and for the nice days, a little surprise: the back terrace offers a 360° view on the surrounding plain. Having a drink here is a real moment of pleasure!

An address with a quite impersonal decor but where the pizzas are varied and delicate (thin dough and easy to digest: gluten-free option for intolerants). You can also try other dishes, such as the Schiz alla Bellunese, a specialty of fresh cheese, typical of the province of Belluno, which is cooked in a frying pan with butter and salt. The taste is not very strong but it is still an interesting discovery! You can also try spaghetti with seafood or a salted strudel with red radish from Treviso.

Excellent fish restaurant in the Borgo San Giuliano, Rimini's old fishermen's quarter with its colourful alleyways. It was here, near the Tiberius Bridge, that at the beginning of the 20th century Marianna offered board and lodging to people passing through on their way to Rimini on the Via Emilia. She cooked fish dishes for them, which she obtained from the fishermen of the Borgo. Today, the trattoria continues the local culinary tradition by offering fish and seafood specialities, as well as some Romagna meat dishes.

A real institution in Cesenatico, not to be missed! Situated along the Porto Canale, this fish restaurant specialises in frying: various fried fish (including a boneless guarantee!), squid, potatoes and vegetables. Delicious, to eat in or take away. Also some dishes: pasta, risotto, fish kebabs, suggestions of the day according to the fishing and market products. Very good homemade desserts, such as sorbets of the day with seasonal fruit and ice cream

A downtown restaurant on a quiet square. Here only seasonal and local products are served. Once a week, the house takes the road to the mountains to go to Claut, a village in the Friulian Dolomites, to stock up on cold meats. The grappa (brandy) comes from Cividale (province of Udine) and in the cellar the walls are lined with regional wines. In the cupboards: the pitina, a slow food delicatessen. Something to comfort lost riders...

In a historic house in the city center, you will find a counter and two warm rooms where you can enjoy a local cuisine based on local products. On the menu, homemade frisco and mountain cold cuts, dishes from Friuli and Veneto such as rabbit in a pot with bunch onions and chanterelles, ravioloni with porcini mushrooms and chanterelles on a cream of mushroom and hazelnut butter, or a whole lasagna with radicchio from Treviso, sausage and leeks Finally, try a honey strudel with vanilla sauce.

"Stefano Bertoni cooks in the ovens of this trendy and gourmet address in the pedestrian centre. The programme includes a range of gourmet paninis. For example the panini il gionalista with Parma ham, arugula, ricotta and truffle oil. Dishes such as a roast rack of lamb with pistachio invite you to linger here. The organic wine offered is fruity and long on the palate. You eat on a few tables on the terrace, at the counter or on small tables in the back room. The decoration is design and offbeat.

Situated in an alleyway in the centre, this small retro restaurant occupies an old carriage garage which was successively occupied by a bicycle workshop. It was founded by four friends who wanted to create a place of sociability in their image, convivial and spontaneous. The establishment offers a choice of simple, but original and above all delicious dishes at a very affordable price. The atmosphere is informal and rather young, the staff smiling and friendly. Guests also like to meet there in the evening for a drink with a diffuse soundtrack to accompany the conversations.

A friendly brasserie, a few steps from Piazza Cavour, that doesn't look like much when you walk past, but is well worth a try. The large, bright dining room and summer terrace are the perfect place to sample local specialties for lunch or dinner, including excellent risotti (with mushrooms, Barolo wine, gravy...), at very reasonable prices. The wood-fired pizzas are good, and the prices remain very reasonable. Pasta, gnocchi and a number of meat and fish dishes are also served, in short, simple, nourishing local cuisine. It's the perfect place for a quick break, at lunchtime for example.

For more than 50 years, the Rosetta Pizzeria (named after the wife of the first owner) has been a success story. The reason? A real Neapolitan pizza baked over a wood fire, elastic and delectable, topped with carefully selected ingredients and drizzled with olive oil rigorously salted. Traditional or more refined toppings, such as the Rosetta pizza with mushrooms, radicchio, bresaola and grana padano, or the Patata pizza with potatoes, sausage, rosemary and gorgonzola. All without breaking the bank.

Davide Palluda, Piedmont's Michelin-starred chef, runs two open-air entities inside the Enoteca regionale del Roero: the All'Enoteca restaurant upstairs, and the Osteria dell'Enoteca, inaugurated in 2013, on the first floor. We tried theOsteria, whose prices are much lower than those of the restaurant, and highly recommend it. The regional gastronomic tradition is very well interpreted and beautifully presented, with a considerable choice of wines, all in a very pleasant setting. A great address!

Ideally located in the center of Alba, this restaurant offers dishes based on finely selected, cooked and presented products. Care is evident at every stage of your meal. Service is, of course, impeccable. A fine wine list, available by the glass, accompanies the meal. You can lunch or dine on the terrace at the foot of the cathedral, in a superb setting. The queen of the menu is, of course, the white truffle, Alba's specialty, a must-taste!

This good address in Alghero is a little bit away from the centre and its animation. Here, there are no pizzas, but dishes turned towards the sea, worked with carefully selected and fresh products. The impeccable presentation of the plates and the sober setting set the tone: you are in a gastronomic bistro. The plates reveal an original bresaola of tuna bresaola with fennel, orange and liquorice or a delicate peach return with artichoke carpaccio and almonds. Don't miss the tiramisu for dessert, one of the chef's specialities.

Nice bistro nestled in a passage not far from the castle, appreciated by the Tridentines for the lunch break. You can eat well and quickly (salads, dishes, burgers...). There are also several local craft beers. Perfect between two visits in town, especially since you can also take your meal with you to eat outdoors. The place is also very lively at the aperitif time, especially on Thursday, with live music and a more festive atmosphere. Here we make Venetian Spritz, with Select aperitivo produced in the "Serenissima".

The Il Marin restaurant, overlooking the Darse on the top floor of Eataly, not only offers a magnificent view of the old port. The cuisine on offer is refined, meticulously prepared using fresh local produce. Service is impeccable. Let us advise you on the catch of the day and follow chef Marco Visciola in his creations. Ligurian gastronomy is reinterpreted with great skill. A refined setting for those seeking a high-level gastronomic experience.

Magnificent agriturismo on the banks of the Po river and very close to the A21 motorway (exit Caorso). The covered terrace, facing the river and bordered by trees, forms the bucolic and peaceful setting of the restaurant. We come to forget that the Po has made the industrial fortune of northern Italy! After an antipasto of gnocco fritto and local delicatessen, try the "Po flavoured" pasta or dishes of freshly caught river fish. Family atmosphere. The agriturismo also has ten rooms, simple but well equipped.

Located on the first floor of an elegant villa with a facade featuring pretty stone balconies, this discreet restaurant offers a menu of typical lagoon cuisine. Inside, there are two pleasant dining rooms, brightened by beautiful Murano glass, and, in summer, an intimate vine-covered terrace. The cuisine of the sea takes pride of place: cod with polenta, crab, cuttlefish... but also pasta dishes and fish (bass, sea bream, sole). Attentive service. Overcrowded in high season, reservations are highly recommended. A good Lido restaurant.

L'Oie Blanche (in Italian L'Oca Bianca) is the nice name of this small neighborhood trattoria. Here, at Ugo's, proximity rhymes with quality cuisine! So, after having taken care to reserve your table in advance, it is preferable, you will generally not regret the experience. The establishment offers a world cuisine, between tradition and modernity, serving tagliolini with asparagus, baccalà alla portoghese, falafel recipes or köfte with tzatziki. An address with a good quality-price ratio.

According to the locals, it is one of the best trattorias in Cefalù. In fact, the restaurant is always full and it is better to make a reservation, especially for dinner. The setting is rather chic, just like the plate. The octopus salad with asparagus sauce as a starter, the plate of "crudi", seafood in carpaccio and tartar, will whet your appetite. The fresh pasta is marvellous, well prepared, and the swordfish rolls succulent. We love the attentive service and the Sicilian family atmosphere.

A beautiful find in the San Niccolò district, located between the Rose Garden and the Bardini Garden! Alberto Navari and his mother, Giuseppina, have created an elegant, friendly and original place here. Indeed, the dishes, all delicious and reasonably priced, can be enjoyed around a central island. The experience is all the more user-friendly. Zeb Gastronomia is therefore a restaurant that honours traditional family cuisine, but it is also a delicatessen that the inhabitants of the district love.

Behind the Excelsior Hotel, a few steps from the Festival Palace and the Casino, Tavernetta offers refined cuisine featuring dishes from Venetian and Tuscan cuisine. On the menu, however, pasta, meat and fish take the lion's share. Riccardo and his wife Adrianna have passed on their taste for good things to their son Ottavio, who has become a sommelier. Nice selection of bottles, to be tasted with patience. It is also possible to come here for a simple drink, as the restaurant also serves as a bar.

Since its opening in 1976, this address has inevitably distinguished itself by the character of the house that houses it. In summer, the layout of the terrace is in keeping with the charm of this former residence, located on the elegant Saturnia Square. The conditions are therefore optimal to discover the local gastronomy. Meat lovers, here cooked in the large fireplace of the room, at your forks! High quality raw materials and typical Maremma dishes are in the spotlight, so it would be a shame not to enjoy them.

Remarkable restaurant located in the elegant Tenuta Monacelle and its famous trulli. The chef Pierluca Ardito has created a refined cuisine of local and seasonal produce, made with products "à kilometer zero". Dishes of the Apulian tradition, impeccably executed and beautifully presented, with a balance of finesse and without superfluous frills. The bread to accompany the meal and the desserts are homemade. The ideal place for a romantictête-à-tête and to cut yourself off from the modern world. Excellent service.

Traditional trattoria in a pedestrian street in the city centre, near Piazza Garibaldi. A good address to discover the culinary specialities of Parma in all simplicity, such as fried gnocchi served with excellent regional charcuterie, tortelli and horse meat. Smiling and available staff. If the veranda at the entrance is a bit sad, the small rooms, which are spread over several levels, are more welcoming; have fun watching the cascade of hams hanging from the walls

On the outskirts of Soave, in the romantic setting of a former ^16th-century convent, this restaurant offers the finest traditional Venetian dishes. The menu features a selection of dishes from the sea (gnocchi with shrimp and tomato, shellfish platter...) and the land (beef tartar, carpaccio with sauce...). Of course, Soave wines go with every dish. Attractive summer terrace. Four tastefully furnished double rooms serve as a B&B. Excellent breakfast.

La Cantina del Borgo is a historical address in the centre of Castiglione Olona that offers the curious visitor a menu that changes every month. All of this in the respect of the Lombard gastronomic tradition. Cold meats, cheese and homemade desserts, but also polenta, pasta with mushrooms and onion soup are just some of the proposals offered by the chef Giovanni Lorenzo. The setting and the characteristic atmosphere of the place make it even more inviting to settle down. And when the plates arrive, you'll soon be convinced by the beauty and goodness of the place.

Everything is good in this slightly elevated restaurant behind Cernobbio. Fresh quality products and delicious pizzas , all at really honest prices for such a touristic place. Fish from the lake is in the spotlight, with recipes that tend towards sophistication (risotto with perch fillets, fried fish). Nice room, but the real added value is the terrace with its splendid view of the lake. Recommended for all those who want to eat well, even the setting is charged. A few well-kept rooms for those who would like to stop longer.

In Praiano, a stop at the restaurant "Il Pirata" is almost obligatory. How can you not succumb to this very special place, both for its location and its intimate atmosphere? It is both a lounge bar and a restaurant and is pleasant at any time of the day. A solarium area with a shower is available to guests. Exoticism is omnipresent: the kitchen and the bar are integrated in the cave and the tables are harmoniously distributed along the seaside promenade. Eating there to the rhythm of the surf is a strong sensation, with a guaranteed romanticism.

Here's a very original bakery, a very friendly and informal address serving tasty dishes at all hours (and selling bread at the same time), just a stone's throw from the Piazza Ducale. Stuffed and sweet brioches for breakfast, lasagne, baked pasta, as well as meat or fish and their accompaniments according to the menu of the day. Quality is the order of the day, always with a smile from the charming staff. Terrace in summer.

If you want to eat fish or seafood, this is the place for you! These are obviously not the region's specialties, but mountain dwellers are entitled to a few seafood restaurants. Spaghetti alle vongole, fish soup, shrimp kebabs, the choice is wide. On Thursdays, the restaurant serves excellent grilled seafood. There are also meat dishes and some typical Trentino specialties. We recommend the pork tenderloin wrapped in speck and glazed with marsala wine. Warm welcome and fair prices.
