Very well located on Plaza del Carmen, opposite the town hall, this pretty tavern with its chic bar look is a good stopover when walking around the centro. We sit on one of the small tables that run along the bay windows or in front of the large barra, the two areas that are more crowded on weekends. On the menu, good quality products, with specialities such as artichokes with foie gras, small beans, habitas, with ham and foie gras, ceviche in salads. Beautiful assortments of sausages or cheeses, to be enjoyed in the barra if you want to reduce costs. Service a little slower when the place is full, but the jazzy atmosphere makes tourists like Grenadins wait.

Located in the Marina, in the heart of the port of Ibiza, the restaurant Can Guillemis offers excellent Mediterranean cuisine, where the quality of the products is of prime importance, without forgetting to take particular care in the presentation. The very classy Japanese resto-grill Izakaya is located on the ground floor of the flamboyant Sir Joan hotel. You can enjoy an incredible variety of Japanese dishes, raw or cooked: tempura, sashimi, wagyu sushi and other makis, all prepared according to traditional recipes or revisited with inventiveness, at the pretty bar, in the dining room or on the terrace surrounding the pool in the garden. Sumptuous setting, exquisite flavours, professional service. Watch the bill though, it tends to go up without you noticing!

Located at the foot of the passage leading to the entrance to Dalt Vila, Il Dek is a trendy Italian address with starred chef Andrea Alimenti at the stove. Typical Italian dishes (the pizzas are very good and the focaccia with octopus will seduce many), but also some original fusion recipes and proposals of raw fish from the sushi bar, to be enjoyed morning, noon and evening, accompanied by a fruit juice, coffee or cocktail. It's not necessarily cheap, but the setting and the food are worth it. Remember to book in season.

A beautiful location on the Plaza de la Constitución for this restaurant which offers a pretty terrace under the arcades that we will be keen to rally to engage in the art of tapeo, an area in which it excels. If the Palenga has taken over the square since the early 2000s, it has been taken over since 2010 by the son Juan Jésus, who has maintained his position as a "traditional family cuisine" while giving it a fresh look, both in terms of decoration and on the plates. Rather than the large dining room, prefer its cosy little comedor, where you can see the cooks at work. A la carte, soups, fish (koxkera hake, monkfish or squid cooked in squid ink) and good meat stews (the veal cutlet and game in season deserve to be carefully considered).

The decoration, decorated with yellow tiles and old posters, is purely Madrid. Every day, the chef prepares a very honourable paella, as well as the house's specialities, in particular langoustines and plancha prawns. An unmissable meeting of the locals, for lunch and dinner. In a sober and friendly setting, where you are welcomed with a smile, hot soups are served in winter, gazpachoes in summer, sandwiches around the large common tables and delicious pastries are served. Asador Maria Morena is a pastel-coloured restaurant, which offers a few terraced tables and a panoramic view of the superb Cuenca valley. This is the promise of a good time at lunch or dinner in this beautiful establishment perched at the very top of the city. We particularly appreciated the bluefin tuna tataki as a starter, goat and fruit salad or rice with shrimp and garlic in the food section. The welcome can be a little fast in high season, but the price-quality ratio is quite good.

This is a great place to have a glass of (good) wine and some delicious tapas in the northern part of the Malasaña district. In a small room with modern accents where bricks and wood cohabit marvellously, you can enjoy skewers of salsa scampi, marinated anchovies or mini hamburgers. A very popular address in the evenings on weekends and a very good del dia menu during the week (with a choice of meat or fish every day). On the flip side, the reception can be a little cold.
