A tourist supermarket that hasn't changed much since it opened in 1975, it has almost become a little legend in Les Salines, very practical for refuelling before going to the beach. The place is known for its sandwiches "a la carta" to fill with the ingredients of your choice and for its empanadas. You can also find typical local Ibizan products, from wine to olive oil and Ibizan salt, as well as seasonal fruit and vegetables. If you pass by this delicatessen, the wonderful smell that emanates from it will compel you to enter. With a tradition that dates back to 1851, it still retains its original charm, worthy of a museum. Among its products you will find nuts, coffee, tea, cocoa, jams, chocolate, spices and much more. The high quality products are prepared in an artisanal way and make the customers happy. Thanks to its wood-fired oven, the house roasts its own dried fruits, which gives them a unique and incomparable taste!

Since 1795 (seven generations), the patriarchal company produced among the best olive nectars in Spain, its flor of aceite (nectar nectar in the pretty bottle sealed and numbered) is the reference of the brand that exports to Asia, particularly Japan, its main buyer for use in cosmetics. This pioneer Casa de Labranza, with Olive, is visiting with Paco Nuñez de Prado: The pick-up is done by hand, the mill facilities retain a traditional oil mill and a form of storage in the Roman. When you get out of the subway, don't miss this legendary pastry shop that has been providing croissants, chocolate breads, large cream cakes and sweets to Madrileans for over a century. You can also drink your coffee or chocolate upstairs in a slightly outdated room, but which remains very pleasant overlooking the Puerta del Sol and Calle Mayor. Ideal if you stay in a pension that does not offer breakfast or for a sweet snack after a day of visits in winter. A historical address of the capital.

How do you beat the heat on a day of sightseeing in Gràcia? By going to the artisanal ice cream shop Tomo II! Its creamy ice creams and sorbet bases, made with the best natural products, will make you melt with pleasure. In front of the window of this shop, the greedy ones will choose a classic vanilla ice cream without sugar, with bitter chocolate or with cheesecake. But, to refresh yourself, prefer watermelon or mojito sorbets. Take your time, as the selection is vast and also includes pancakes and waffles.

An institution in Madrid since 1894 and surely the most famous churreria in the capital. Nestled in one of the oldest passages of the city, people come here at all hours of the day, but especially at night to have a drink or two too many in the famous nightclub nearby, the Joy Eslava in particular. One sits then on the terrace in the charming passage or in the beautiful 19th century room when it is cooler. On the menu, a cup of thick hot chocolate with churros dipped in it. Christian choke? No, typical!

A traditional pastry and confectionery shop, founded in 1929. Don't forget to ask for the pelayinos, marzipan cakes with apple cream, or the roca de San Lorenzo, an almond and chocolate biscuit. You'll also find good homemade ice creams, of which we recommend the Gijón turrón , with a hint of lemon and cinnamon. Also gourmet chocolates and tasty pies. The website is very complete and you will find many traditional recipes for pies, pasties and cakes.

In Sitges, its silhouette is almost as emblematic of the central square as that of the church bell tower facing it. The shop was founded in 1886 and is now run by the fourth generation of pastry chefs. Located in the centre of the city, near the Cap de Vila square, you can find all the pastries and one of their specialities, a kind of empanada filled with hazelnut praline, but also many other sweets such as sweets or typical products of the city.

CELLERS D'EN GUILLA

Wine Cellar Wine House
5/5
1 review

This small wine structure, which has 12 hectares of vine vines exclusively from the Empordà, produces no more than 50 000 bottles per year. Rather than favouring industrial production, the Cellers d'en Guilla opted for meticulous and quality work. Celler from Guilla develops wines with the unique variety of Empordà (Garnatxa Roja). The Vinya del Metge (a young rosé wine), Edith (a white wine aged in the barrel) and two sweet Garnatxa wines typical of the Empordà (Garnatxa and Sol i Serena). The vineyard also develops two aged red wines for six months (Rec de External) and one year (Bruel) in bottle. All have received international awards from Madrid to Brussels. It is possible to visit in French, with breakfast if desired, from 11 am to 14 pm, on prior reservation only.

This historic Calentaría , located at Puerta de la Carne, has been a meeting point and a hub of life in the neighbourhood since 1860. To understand its longevity and popularity, you only have to look at the queue in the morning, which includes regular and loyal customers, as well as well-informed tourists. Here, they pride themselves on serving porras, made with oil and not margarine, and worked with a "syringe". You can take them away, or enjoy them on one of the nearby terraces. With or without chocolate. We recommend it.

Founded in 1929, the Mauri pastry shop is an emblematic place in the Rambla Catalunya, where Barcelona's good society has been enjoying tea for several generations. It is housed in a former queviures (delicatessen) shop whose décor has remained intact with its delicate woodwork, painted ceilings and wonderful counter decorated with biscuits, brioches, chocolates and pastries. In addition to the tea room, you can also have lunch in the restaurant area and stock up in the catering area.
