Read moreIsidro and his son, Isidro junior, are the eighth generation of potters to continue this traditional workshop. His daughter, María, is also here, but she is responsible for painting and decorating the pieces. In this large space, you'll see a vast collection of pottery (jars, pots, candlesticks, dishes...), both ancient and modern, in all styles, including the great Lucena "classics" such as the Perula, a vessel of Roman origin used to transport wine, the Orza, for preserving oil and cured meats, the Botija de arriero, used to carry water to the fields, the Cántaro, from the well to the house, or the Dornillo, a vessel used to prepare gazpacho. You'll also discover more unexpected items, such as the paridera, an object designed to facilitate childbirth for women. You can visit all the facilities used to make them: lathes, kilns, paint shop... and watch the craftsmen practicing this meticulous activity.
