A very good meat restaurant with a rather exciting price-quality ratio. The embers are delicious (ask for Wagyu's lomo vetado), but the seafood (for example the Ecuadorian camarones) and risottos left us with good memories. Although popular, the address is not one of those "tourist traps" where you will be badly served and unwelcome, quite the opposite: the waiters are charming and friendly and some of them will be able to translate the map into English for you.

This avant-garde address has been serving vegetarian dishes since 1927! Needless to say, the options are varied and the quality is there. They serve coffees but also fruit juices, including the emblematic carrot juice, the specialty of the house! Also on the menu: sandwiches, salads (with quinoa!), empanadas, soups, as well as more substantial dishes(pastel de choclo, chorrillana naturista, lasagne). And delicious desserts. An excellent restaurant of the great Peruvian chef Gaston Acurio. Here, the sea takes the man and we offer you fish and seafood above all. In a modern and well-balanced atmosphere, the cuisine is top-notch: after a pisco sour or a Peruvian-style cocktail (obligatory!), try the anticuchos de pulpo a la parrilla as a starter (a delicacy), the ceviche then the tacu tacu creole (seafood on a kind of rice and bean omelette) or the giant crab. Excellent!

Welcome to the temple of molecular cuisine. Chef Rodolfo Guzmán likes the most unlikely ingredients (flowers, fruits, chlorophyll...) to obtain amazing flavours. To discover: oysters with natural persimmon and passion fruit jam, smoked hake with cinnamon and cooked at low temperature for 4 hours. For a complete panorama, choose the 8-course tasting menu. Some love it, some hate it! But, according to us, it's one of the best restaurants in Santiago. To try at least once in his life!

Who doesn't know Liguria? Everybody finds themselves in this very Chilean "bistro" with unpretentious dishes and unpretentious sticks for lunch and dinner. In an elegant setting, kitschy according to some, but certainly very typical, the service is enthusiastic and smiling. The very friendly atmosphere becomes very hectic in the evening (especially at the Providencia Avenue address), so if you plan to dine in a quiet place, remember to come early. A timeless institution that is well worth a visit during your stay.

On one side, the bakery-pastry shop where you can find curiosities such as beer bread in the middle of the traditional baguettes or butter croissants. On the other hand, the restaurant and its large shaded terrace, with brunch, tartines (large slices of bread on which all sorts of ingredients are placed), sandwiches, quiche lorraine, tablas...promise freshness and quality alongside traditional dishes with sometimes French accents (a duck confit is offered, for example), very well prepared. A popular chain, very appreciated.

In addition to its local meals, the house also offers to rent horses for a half-day or full-day excursion. A small craft shop sells souvenirs and delicious jams.

This intimate and warm, yet somewhat off-centre restaurant is also a workshop and cooking school in its spare time. We offer succulent traditional Chilean dishes (pastel de centolla, machas a la parmesana, ciervo...) in a charming and divinely typical setting! They produce a delicious homemade beer, but you can also choose the pisco sour which also convinced us. One of the best addresses in the area, the service is attentive, the cuisine is local and the setting is quite pleasant.

The seafood at this restaurant is particularly popular and is the cheapest curanto in the city. Taste the centolla, giant crab or spider crab, a condensed blend of flavours made in Chiloé! There is also carapacho: a delicious stew cooked directly in the shell of the seafood. In addition to seafood specialties, you can choose more typical dishes and empanadas. The prices are more than reasonable, the portions rather generous and the attention particularly friendly.

On the first floor of the main Cardonal market, near the terminal, in a colourful atmosphere so typical of the old port, this is a good address to soak up the local atmosphere. It offers mostly good and hearty fish and seafood ( machas a la parmesana are a must as an appetizer, then the chupe de camarones). The marina Paila (a traditional Chilean seafood soup) is particularly delicious. There are always local musicians who come to play the guitar and sing. A very picturesque address.

The principle, as the name suggests, is that we can get breakfast at any time! Nice for late risers. Nice décor: painted slabs, windows, shelves, like an old shop. You can read his newspaper and buy tea, oatmeal cakes, alfajores… Vegetarians are not forgotten. Lunch menu at noon.

Incredible! We're almost entering people. The atmosphere is family, everyone active in kitchen or service. The dishes are typical and of surprising quality: Chilean gastronomers regard it as the best address in town (the lomo liso, what delight)! In any case, it is by far the most original. In a beautiful setting combining the charm of Chilean houses (all wooden with a facade reminiscent of fish scales) with modernity (large windows, bay windows, lights ...). Another very typical and cheap address! At the tía Berta, you can eat delicious empanadas made with meat, cheese, seafood or fish, which can be a meal in themselves. The best known is the tuna and cheese empanada. A simple and generous cuisine that uses fresh products: you can also order a shrimp salad, a vegetarian risotto, lobster or grilled tuna with sweet potato purée. A no-frills address that has been busy over the years.

A very recommendable table in the hotel of the same name. Local specialities are tasty. Undoubtedly, Raul is a blue cord. Refined cuisine, one of the best on the island. Reservations required because our host leaves the market in function.

In front of the tavern and the small harbour. Good little address that offers rich sandwiches and a good bill. Reasonable prices.

Rather to eat snacks or simple dishes. The location is very charming, the friendly service. The pub atmosphere in the evening is at the most exciting occasion. The speciality of the house is reminiscent of the Chorrillana in Valparaíso. We feel good.

We love a lot of tuna carpaccio or mango pie.

An address that definitely has its charm: the decor is full of regional antiques from the time of the saltpetre epic. You will taste local dishes at low prices: sibayano de cojinova y quinoa, huataca del chango, lapas rebozadas or espumita de mango... the food is of good quality and the portions are generous. The cocktails are up to the task. Concerts are regularly organized as well as storytelling recitals(cuenta-cuentos). A popular address, but the service can be random and the wait sometimes long.

We eat it well, but it goes to its sumptuous Spanish-Moorish atmosphere. Built in 1904 by Miguel Retornado, the casino is distinguished by its ornate facade and its extraordinary balcony. On the walls, paintings illustrating the scenes of the Don Quixote are the work of a Spanish painter at the beginning of the century, Vicente Tordesillas. On the second floor are six paintings, mainly historical, of the contemporary Chilean painter Sixto García. Even if you don't intend to sit there, take a look at this truly enchanting building. The service of the restaurant is not excellent, but that does not prevent you from tasting a succulent pisco sour.

Looking for a romantic dinner? Located in front of the sea, it is one of the best chic restaurants in town, the panorama sets the tone and the atmosphere is a little more stilted than elsewhere. The service is impeccable, very professional and conscientious, and the plates are beautifully presented. The sea air makes the bill a little salty (indigestible if you come from Peru), but the fish and seafood are very good. Try the shrimp with mango and the tuna steak, the ceviche is also delicious!

Decorated like a family house, this restaurant is specialized in the typical Chilean cooking. You sit at large tables dressed with white tablecloths, the decoration all around is basic to say the least, but the atmosphere is pleasant. For more than thirty years, Los Aleros has been serving very good meats, empanadas and some fish and seafood options. A very local address that regularly comes alive on football match nights. A good value for money place to eat.

A relaxed atmosphere for this popular restaurant. On the menu: pizzas, tablas, dishes and spirits.

Really the best value for money in the city. Sandwiches, pizza or some Chilean dishes such as chorrillana can be eaten. Meals between $ 2 000 and $ 3 000 and jug of beer at $ 3 190. Really not bad.

Picturesque atmosphere.

This well-established restaurant has been serving fish and seafood specialties for over 30 years: the decor has not changed... and neither has the cuisine! The dishes are made with local products and with a Chilean touch, of course. This good address pays tribute to the riches of the sea: every Friday from 8 pm, an all-you-can-eat buffet is set up and offers almonds with parmesan, sea urchins, oysters, shrimps, smoked salmon, ceviche, conger eel, marine paella, pastel de centolla... The service would have been a bit outdated in the last years, but the good value for money is still there and the products are still as fresh as ever. A good way to fill up on iodine!

Open since 1959, it is known as the "big little café of Valdivia". The warm wooden interior is decorated with period mugs and crockery. They serve pies, kuchen with nuts, empañadas, sandwiches and an excellent draught beer. But people come here above all for its crudo, a typical German-Chilean dish consisting of a "steak tartare with onions", which is the specialty of the house! A historical reference where the service may be slow, but the attention is always there. Good value for money.

It is the fish and vegetable market of Valdivia where Sunday strollers come to feast on cherries by the lake. The market is also visited by several sea lions, sometimes waiting to be served a small piece of fish! They have taken up residence there and come regularly to do their shopping. Do like them and enjoy, for a small price, fish, mariscos (seafood) and curantos de Chiloé. The products are of course fresh and local, which will ensure a quality meal at a lower cost.
