Read moreThe nature reserve of the Isle of Isle is nature in the heart of the city. A few minutes walk from the centre, the visitor is surrounded by wild and semi-wild nature. Located in a wetland area of approximately hectares, part of which is devoted to water sports and fishing, the reserve presents a wide variety of species in the moving waters, and a particularly rich avifauna of breeding birds or seasonal hosts: butternut, posh, coot, rousserolle, fauvette and, in times of migration, many ducks, sandpipers, curlew… The farmhouse allows visitors to observe chickens, ducks, sheep, peacock, geese, kids, lambs and ponies. A few steps away, the Wild Wildlife protection centre treats injured birds (kept out of the public eye). The Environment House, at the entrance to the park, regularly hosts exhibitions on local fauna and flora. Site tour by a peripheral path, guided every first Sunday of the month.

Read moreThis observatory is located on the edge of a private pond near the hamlet of Blizon. It's one of the oldest ponds. it is covered with lilies. You can admire one of the last great rostrums in Brenne. There is a large colony of herons that nest on the spot. Birds that can be observed on this pond include many species of ducks, herons and magnets. Walks accompanied by the Maison de la Nature de Saint-Michel in Brenne. The Blizon Trail also allows you to discover this place alone.

Located in the community, its highest point, the summit pond between the catchment Blavet and that of Alder, is always the most difficult part of the work to supply during the dry season. Very pleasant tree-lined site, it is ideal for summer swimming and a number of water activities such as dinghy or kayak and various outdoor activities ideal for family vacation.

In addition to this essential site, we will highlight the interest of buildings such as the Hotel Belmont and its turret, the Hotel de Carné, the various fountains and washhouses of the 15th and 16th centuries, such as that of the former presbytery, the Saint-Michel chapel in the city centre built in 1440 and restored from the 18th century onwards. The region also has other very beautiful chapels dating back to the 12th and 13th centuries. To the south of the village, the chapels of Saint-Jean and Notre-Dame-de-l'O (towards Péaule) are worth a look. To the west, visit the chapel of Saint-Doué and to the north the chapel of Lesnoyal, whose yew tree and small cemetery are listed as Historic Monuments.
