A "crazy" season for this museum installed in what was once one of the largest silk factories in Europe, the Bonnet Silk Mills. Preservation and presentation of an industry of excellence - luxury fabrics created for the greatest haute-couture houses - with a permanent exhibition retracing nearly 200 years of textile production history. Nous avons redécouvert ce musée, il est très attractif et représente bien l'activité du tissage de la soie. A voir pour mieux comprendre le métier des camus.

Visite très surprenante d'une usine restée en état de fonctionnement. On s'attend à ce que les ouvriers arrivent et s'installent aux machines. La visite guidée a lieu même pour une seule personne. La guide n'hésite pas à vous faire partager ses connaissances, à mettre en fonction les machines pour mieux vous faire comprendre le travail méticuleux qui était réalisé dans ces locaux et l'ambiance qui y régnait. Les expositions complètent bien la visite et vous transportent à une autre époque pourtant pas si éloignée. A découvrir.
