The wildest cirque, an enchanting site sandwiched between Gavarnie and Troumouse.
The Cirque d'Estaubé, a Unesco World Heritage site, is a natural wonder of the Pyrenees, less visited than its neighbors Gavarnie and Troumouse. It's an easy 3-hour round-trip hike, with a 140-meter vertical drop, offering views of a wild cirque, a lake, a dam and, as a backdrop, Mont-Perdu. Departure is from the Les Gloriettes dam parking lot, after a narrow mountain road. The route is punctuated by waterfalls, barns and a plain offering a unique view of Mont-Perdu.
