If you love plants and flowers, you shouldn't miss the Floralies organised in the spring, the weekend after 8 May: a splendour! The already rich heritage of the village is magnified by the floral decorations and the stands of the nurserymen. Every year, for more than 30 years, the village has organised this spring event which attracts about sixty exhibitors and thousands of visitors, enthusiasts from all over. Your eyes will thank you for the detour.

This festival dedicated to Spanish culture, especially to cinema (films in original version with or without subtitles), has made its place in the sun in Dordogne. If the 7th art remains the star, literary meetings, concerts and exhibitions have enriched the festival over the years with a program of music, readings and tastings with film-paella evenings. Organized around José Santos-Dusser, it federates associations and enthusiasts who enjoy meeting " para hablar espanol" around this cultural highlight with Spanish colors.

Tattooing and its world are the focus of this artistic festival in Le Lardin. Organized by Arts et Créations, a designer concept-store in Rouffignac-de-Saint-Cernin, and by Ti-Tio Tatoo, a tattoo and piercing salon in Terrasson, in aid of the Roulez Jeunesse association, this event invites tattooed and non-tattooed people alike to come together for a festive, musical and joyful atmosphere on the first weekend in June. Local artisans and their creations will be in the spotlight, along with refreshments, a food truck and children's entertainment.

It's a not-to-be-missed event for gourmets, attracting visitors from all over the region (20,000 for the last edition)! A festival of books, of course, but also a festival of the senses, with numerous workshops, conferences and tastings on offer throughout the weekend. Local producers' stands are also on hand, giving you the chance to discover a number of unusual specialities.

The combination of foie gras (60%) surrounded by fine pork stuffing and truffles (3%) is even tastier as it ages. Good news! Because the 2020 edition of this gastronomic event having been cancelled, 2021 will be an even better year for connoisseurs. The promotion of this product, which is several hundred years old and bears the name of the city, is ensured by the pâté brotherhood, in red and green costume. The annual competition is open to professionals from the Dordogne.

A member of the very active Ciné Passion en Périgord network since 1986, Le Vox cinema is a Montignac institution. Eric, Franck and Marie Hélène keep this eclectic, cutting-edge cinema alive all year round. They leave no audience out with their selection, which includes films in VO, blockbusters and children's films, as well as mini-festivals, notably dedicated to short films, theme evenings and meetings. More than just a cinema, it's a place for cultural mediation and discovery.

Come and have a thrill at the beginning of the summer at the Noir Vézère Festival, which specialises in crime novels. You will meet local writers who will present their works and answer your questions, even the darkest! On the program, animations for all and dedications of about twenty authors, in a friendly atmosphere. Enough to fill your suitcase with Périgord thrillers to read on the beach or by the fire! In collaboration with the bookshop Le Maout.

For a week, Montignac vibrates to the rhythm of music and folklore from around the world. Shows and concerts are on the program, as are craft markets and exhibitions, notably in the Salle Jean Macé, which becomes a veritable treasure trove throughout the summer. Since 1981, groups and troupes from all over the world have been sharing their heritage at Montignac, along with some of the biggest names in contemporary music. In 2024, reggae star Yaniss Odua opens the festival.

Brikabrak is a transpoetic festival that combines the performing arts and poetry for young (and not-so-young!) audiences. After a 2023 season that jeopardized the equilibrium of the association that supports it, the festival continues to work in the region, staging several events throughout the year. Musical storytelling, object theater, masked theater, circus, gestural poetry... the arts are adapted to young audiences aged 3 and over, and parents and carers are sure to join in the fun. It's time to immerse yourself in a most important investigation: finding Monsieur Lapin thanks to 2 animations. One for 5- to 7-year-olds, "A la recherche de Monsieur Lapin", and the other for 8- to 12-year-olds, "Top secret, le livret d'enquête de l'inspecteur Artaban". Budding investigators will be on the hunt for clues to complete their playbook and gain access to the chocolate treasure. This event is organized in partnership with Chocolats Bovetti, Terrasson.

listed as part of France's inventory of intangible cultural heritage, the Brantôme carnival keeps the tradition of the Occitan carnival alive. In the run-up to Easter, the carnival is traditionally a time for feasting and merrymaking before the Lenten season. Today, the dates are more widespread in Brantôme, as they are in Périgueux, Nontron with the Soufflaculs, Bergerac, Sarlat and other towns. Make-up, fancy dress, singing and dancing, before setting fire to the vile carnival man known as Pétassou. It's all in good fun, and confetti is the order of the day.

As at every farmers' market in the Dordogne department, this is the season for producers' stalls featuring ducks and geese in all their finery. February is the season to cook carcass soup or prepare preserves for the coming season. On the markets, there's plenty to keep you busy all day long. Award-winning markets, tastings, initiations and gourmet meals. Come and taste the grilled "demoiselles" (duck aiguillettes) or the carcass soup.

Each day, this nomadic festival will take you from one village in the Isle valley to another. From Annesse and Beaulieu to Saint-Léon-sur-l'Isle via Chantérac, the Domaine des Chaulnes in Grignols or Mensignac and Neuvic. The festival is also aimed at schools and leisure centers, with an average attendance of over 4,000 young spectators. They discover live multidisciplinary shows. The festive evenings have their audience. An opportunity to meet and exchange sensations. And gastronomy takes center stage with gourmet products.

The great urban agricultural festival will take place in Sarlat from September 23 to 25, 2022.
During 3 days, the essential role of agriculture will be highlighted. Its impact on the protection of the environment, animal welfare, product quality... Around the place de la Grande Rigaudie and the rue de la République: Exhibitions, strolls, small farm, agricultural competitions, contests, musical animations, catering...

With a meal of 1 000 guests planned on Saturday.
