Every year, Sarlat celebrates its fetish animal: noisy flocks of geese cavort through the medieval city, wandering between the stands where they taste the famous carcass soup (a true local tradition) offered to all to warm up. In a festive atmosphere, under the baton of a banda, foie gras cutting and making workshops are programmed in the presence of careful farmers and craftsmen eager to share their passion. But Sarlat Fest'oie wouldn't be Sarlat Fest'oie without its grand banquet, the Bodeg'oie.

The Festival of Baroque Theater in the Black Perigord is organized by the Oghmac Company. A week of discovery of this very particular theater. This company of theatrical and musical creations revives the baroque theater and its repertoire according to its tradition. Their research leads them to work on diction and gestures, as well as costumes. Finally, under a covered market, on a village square or in a castle courtyard, they offer shows performed by candlelight

Mimos, an international festival of mime and gesture arts, since 1983, was a forerunner. It is the largest in Europe, with 75,000 spectators and a thousand facets (object theatre, dance, acrobatics, puppets, juggling, street). The city becomes the theatre of this art of movement during a summer break: squares, gardens, alleyways, districts, museums host shows and strolls, most of them free of charge. A selected Off solicits free contributions.

This festival dedicated to Spanish culture, especially to cinema (films in original version with or without subtitles), has made its place in the sun in Dordogne. If the 7th art remains the star, literary meetings, concerts and exhibitions have enriched the festival over the years with a program of music, readings and tastings with film-paella evenings. Organized around José Santos-Dusser, it federates associations and enthusiasts who enjoy meeting " para hablar espanol" around this cultural highlight with Spanish colors.

A member of the very active Ciné Passion en Périgord network since 1986, Le Vox cinema is a Montignac institution. Eric, Franck and Marie Hélène keep this eclectic, cutting-edge cinema alive all year round. They leave no audience out with their selection, which includes films in VO, blockbusters and children's films, as well as mini-festivals, notably dedicated to short films, theme evenings and meetings. More than just a cinema, it's a place for cultural mediation and discovery.

For a week, Montignac vibrates to the rhythm of music and folklore from around the world. Shows and concerts are on the program, as are craft markets and exhibitions, notably in the Salle Jean Macé, which becomes a veritable treasure trove throughout the summer. Since 1981, groups and troupes from all over the world have been sharing their heritage at Montignac, along with some of the biggest names in contemporary music. In 2024, reggae star Yaniss Odua opens the festival.

Brikabrak is a transpoetic festival that combines the performing arts and poetry for young (and not-so-young!) audiences. After a 2023 season that jeopardized the equilibrium of the association that supports it, the festival continues to work in the region, staging several events throughout the year. Musical storytelling, object theater, masked theater, circus, gestural poetry... the arts are adapted to young audiences aged 3 and over, and parents and carers are sure to join in the fun. Each day, this nomadic festival will take you from one village in the Isle valley to another. From Annesse and Beaulieu to Saint-Léon-sur-l'Isle via Chantérac, the Domaine des Chaulnes in Grignols or Mensignac and Neuvic. The festival is also aimed at schools and leisure centers, with an average attendance of over 4,000 young spectators. They discover live multidisciplinary shows. The festive evenings have their audience. An opportunity to meet and exchange sensations. And gastronomy takes center stage with gourmet products.
