Read moreIt took 500 million years of rain, wind and pounding waves to create these aptly named granite rocks that are now part of Flinders Chase National Park. It is now one of the island's must-see sites and you'll soon see why! Many of the rocks are covered with golden orange lichen and interpretive signs describe the formation of the rocks in even greater detail. Black mica, bluish quartz and pinkish feldspar make up most of the granite at Remarkable Rocks.

Read moreIt is a paleontological site inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1994. The caves of Naracoorte are 500,000 years old. Of the 26 caves discovered, some are open to visitors and contain the remains of prehistoric animals, trapped here by the collapse of the ground several million years ago. The site is very popular and one of its most popular attractions is the Bat Cave, where thousands of bats live.

In 1886, James Umpherston, the owner, created a large and remarkable garden below. It is green and full of plants and flowers. It is quite small, but still a very pleasant place to spend the day.
