In an alley in the old town, the Cantinella is housed in an old house at the corner of rue de la Tour de Boël. It's a popular spot for Genevans to enjoy a light meal after a harsh winter. This Italian cafe restaurant is a haven for teachers and bankers. At night, the tone rises with the release of the shows. The atmosphere is that of a luxurious and discreet brasserie. One always tastes there the marvellous rosemary ravioli, a vitello tonnato, a saltimbocca Romana or a grilled sirloin of beef tagliatta, alla rucola, olivo e lmone... As for desserts, we love the Sicilian cassata, the tirami-sù withamaretto, the fruit mille-feuille... The welcome remains warm even late after the show. One of the good addresses of the district!

When you push the heavy door of this famous Indian restaurant, you discover an authentic decor like its cuisine. The Jaipur serves at noon the dish of the day, the Thali, which is a plate made up of meat, vegetables, rice and a doughnut; in the evening, one takes the time to make a banquet. Vegetarians will find delicate vegetables that will delight them. You can choose between strengths 1, 2 or 3, depending on whether you want to eat a lightly or strongly spiced dish. There is even the possibility of reserving a room for twenty covers for a meal with friends.

It has already been thirteen years since the Fleur de Lys, which has become a true Geneva institution, was born out of a bet between three Scouting buddies. In the morning, we come there to eat a sandwich with a small coffee and a newspaper. At midday, the dish of the day, inventive, copious and cheap, never disappoints. During the day, you will come to appreciate the home-made syrups and the impressive tea menu. You have to follow a path, not really secret but not really visible, if at all, from the pedestrian street. You have to climb up to the second floor to gain access to the large wooded room. The menu features burgers and a grill, and you can even order in advance and pick up your menu to take away or enjoy on the spot without having to queue.

A beautiful restaurant with a theatrical feel: coffered ceiling, velvet décor, lamps on every table and retro banquette seating. Just a stone's throw from the station, La Bagatelle is open every day with continuous service. The brasserie offers a cosy, modern setting with huge pop-art portraits adorning the walls, breaking with the more conventional atmosphere of the establishment. The house specialty is entrecôte with Bagatelle butter. The range of desserts is utterly appetizing... and not disappointing!

Mangi sano vivi bene. This is the credo of the Leonardo, dedicated to Italian cuisine geared towards well-being. In addition to traditional pizzas, fresh vegetables, fresh pasta, meats and fish a la plancha, there's the star product: focaccia, straight from Pane, Amore e Fantasia. To complete this high-quality cuisine, gluten-free dishes are also available. You can enjoy all this in a refined, designer atmosphere (takeaway also available). When the weather's nice, you'll love the large terrace overlooking the piazza.

It is Mario Di Sessa who orchestrates this neighbourhood address where you have a very pleasant time. You are at the local bistro, in the restaurant or bar to enjoy Italian or Swiss cuisine generously concocted by the chef. The house works exclusively with fresh products. After the morning delivery of the vegetables Mario takes his place behind the stove. A successful reconversion for this former plumber who worked in theatre, singing, politics and gardening before expressing his passion for cooking here.

Alain Paillereau took over the reins of this restaurant in 2021. You're in a house dating back to 1839 in the delightful Bourguillon district, just a few minutes from the center of Fribourg. The chef trained with Éric Frechon, Anne-Sophie Pic and Michel Troigros. He was awarded a Michelin star in 2022. The cuisine gives pride of place to local producers, whether for fish, fruit, vegetables or condiments. The service, of course, matches the setting. The terrace, shaded by chestnut trees, is an inviting place to stroll and enjoy a cup of coffee.

In the heart of the Pâquis district, a very good Genevan bistro address that's absolutely irresistible, as much for its warm welcome, its slightly retro decor, as for its cuisine that leans towards gastronomy. Local products, local wines, crus by the glass and excellent food! We come here for the magnificent entrecôte couronnée, its veal tournedos and its pan-fried red lentils and cornucopias, as well as its delicious fish dishes that leave exquisite memories for the taste buds. The restaurant supports regional agricultural production.

Still for small budgets, it is the same concept as the restaurant installed in the old town (you will also find them in the Grand-Saconnex and Saint-Gervais districts, all belonging to the same chain). They serve a half roasted chicken with roasted potatoes and salad. It is not a refined cuisine, but the chicken is good as well as the quality/price ratio. The concept is excellent and the address to remember, restaurants with low prices and real dishes are rare in Geneva! Salads are also available.

What's its speciality? As in the same chain in Geneva, Nyon and Sion: hearty burgers. There's a wide range of original choices. Vegetarians will be delighted with the dedicated vegetarian version. The atmosphere in the dining room is pleasant, with attractive decor and a small terrace. Don't forget to make reservations, as the restaurant is often fully booked. The establishment is a victim of its own success: without a reservation, you'll have to queue to enjoy these excellent burgers. Good value for money, good service, recommended place.

Argentinian restaurant, created in 1979, which only offers meat (from Argentina), which is obviously relatively expensive in Switzerland. Latin America is on your plate with the smell of wood-fired grilling right from the open kitchen. The waiters bring you the meat on large skewers and quantity rhymes with quality. The menu also includes a salad, polenta and French fries at will. We come here with friends, and sometimes even to meet Yannick Noah. Terrace on the cobblestones in the summer.

Located on the first floor of the Mix Shop, opposite the upper entrance of Fnac, the Petit Thaï is an excellent address for eating at a low price: Ginger chicken chicken, matsaman curry beef, cashew shrimp, cashew shrimp and many more. The service is very fast and the friendly staff. Non-smoking room.

Behind a pretty blue and white window, rather discreet, lies the best historical in Lausanne! You can choose between three choices of sauce, not at all piquant. Oriental pastries are also delicious.

Ma-Jong is an Asian fast-food restaurant that breaks away from the Swiss norm, with takeaway boxes of Chinese noodles or more elaborate on-site dishes. Excellent pad thai and hearty ramen! The place has opened a second floor that doubles as a sushi bar and karaoke bar (Thursday, Friday and Saturday). The owner, who worked with Japanese for ten years, has decided to offer traditional sushi at affordable prices. Also worth trying: Asian beers such as Tsingtao. A well-known address among regulars.

Located on the grounds of the Vidy campsite, this restaurant offers a friendly, relaxed setting. With its large lakeside terrace surrounded by trees, Les Berges de Vidy is the ideal place to stop for a meal or just an ice cream. Under Orangina umbrellas, you can enjoy delicious perch fillets or simpler fare such as cheese crusts and pizzas. The Breton pancake bar also serves excellent buckwheat pancakes. Flip-flops and pétanque atmosphere guaranteed all day long!

Another dimension, this time from the lake. It's an exploration not to be missed, a cruise aboard one of the Belle Époque boats on the lake. The cruise offers beautiful panoramic views of the Lavaux terraces and the Swiss Riviera, and the Alps on the French side. CGN offers a wide variety of gourmet cruises, including the "festival des fondues" (cheese or wine fondues), or "lunches on the lake", or chef's suggestions. When cuisine becomes an art in itself, an empire of the senses, in terms of flavors, colors and presentation, it's called Crissier for regulars. This three-Michelin-starred restaurant has held on to its title of nobility for over a decade now: it's one of Switzerland's finest tables, and well worth the trip. Excellent and sublime when each dish, combining flavors, texture and art of presentation, constitutes a masterpiece of culinary art.

All the Swiss in the region know this prestigious gastronomic address, located in the charming village of Brent, on the heights of Montreux. Since 2011, Stéphane Décotterd concocts divine dishes based on local products (2 Michelin stars). The puff pastry of frogs' legs with tuberous chervil, black truffles, makes our mouth water. When the Biscôme clementine flavoured with mountain honey arrives, our gaze says a lot about our delicacy! A refined setting in a building of character and a marvellous terrace.

When you come to the Auberge de la Cergniaulaz, you will find yourself in a typically decorated chalet, planted in the middle of the mountain pastures and overlooking the Riviera. A la carte, an elaborate market cuisine, whose main speciality is rabbit à la tessinoise, served in a small pot. The fine choice of wines and above all the warm welcome are appreciated. In the summer, a shady terrace is very pleasant at any time of the day. It is also the starting point for beautiful walks.

The Museum is an institution offering the full range of unmissable Swiss specialties. Admittedly, it's not the best value for money in town, but you'll enjoy it in a Vaudois atmosphere. The setting is pretty and rustic, with red and white gingham tablecloths for the meat specialties, such as beef tenderloin heart fondue, charbonnade and entrecôte (from 200 to 500 g!), all served with the cellar's gratin, made with ten kinds of cheese. A real treat. The Charbonnade is excellent, and the service is good.

A building with typical regional architecture, set back from the hustle and bustle, but easily accessible from the town. In a traditional pint décor, meat dishes are served mainly as rump steak from our mountains, "Café de Paris" butter or veal kidneys with Meaux mustard, oriented towards local cuisine. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere, in a cosy dining room, with fireplace, or also on the terrace.

When we compare recipes to musical notes, we can recompose them together to give birth to thousands of other ideas and create new compositions. It's a real poem, and it works! The pizzas are good and tasty, and the welcome and service are excellent. In short, the atmosphere is one of Italian gastronomy, and you'll never tire of enjoying it. A recommended address if you're craving pizza.

This time, it's a golden-yellow house clinging to the terraces of Lavaux, a location worth its weight in gold, as always, facing the lake and the Alps, a sublime panorama of which one never tires, whatever the light or the season. Everyone fights to have lunch on the lake side, so much so that the managers warn: reservations? According to the recorded chronology, by telephone. You've been warned. Fillets of perch, pike-perch, trout, risottos, sauerkraut, papet vaudois... Traditional and tasty dishes to savor.

It's a little pink house perched on the terraces of Lavaux, a pretty winegrower's house in Aran-Villette. Its chef, Denis Velen, prepares gastronomy based on creativity, inventiveness, color and the inspiration of the moment. He creates "whims of the moment" menus. A great deal of research goes into flavors, the blending of products and the surprise of taste. On sunny days, you can enjoy a splendid view from the terrace. A house of character in the pretty village of Cully, l'Auberge du Raisin is an elegant address. Under the inlaid ceiling of a late 14th early 15th century room decorated with still lifes, you can enjoy gastronomic cuisine, good spit-roasted meats such as the "Boucherie Nardi" rib of beef, creamy tarragon butter, or the whole roasted Swiss cockerel on the spit, with Meaux mustard sauce. The fish dishes are finely cooked. Several areas, bar, cellar, brasserie, restaurant, reading room and hotel.

In Vevey's pedestrian street, the Aladin restaurant is a well-known address among local residents. In a magnificent setting worthy of the Arabian Nights, Ahmad Bahadli has been serving Moroccan, Lebanese and even Iraqi specialities for twelve years. By day, the atmosphere is friendly and sunny. In the evening, candles on the tables make for a more intimate atmosphere. After a starter of hummus and couscous or tagine, there's nothing better than settling down on a pouffe with your hookah and enjoying a light digestion.

A stopover of choice in the charming village of Saint-Saphorin and along the cantonal road. Le Café du Raisin offers a wide choice of fish: Arctic char, fera, perch fillets (from the lake, depending on arrival) and fish soup, but also other dishes such as a tournedos with pinot noir or a rib steak with green pepper. In autumn/winter, the menu also features beautiful game dishes. The welcome is charming and the atmosphere is family friendly. Pleasant high terrace for a coffee break in the afternoon with a view of the lake.

Excellent value for money on a budget. The menu features chicken in all its splendor: on the spit, in sauce, in soup, minced. The 1/2 chickens are excellent, served with fries or salads, and this is one of the best places to eat on a budget in Geneva. Simple but very good meals! the menu: always the same yellow and green color scheme, reminiscent of wheat fields and green pastures. An interesting concept, which can be found in the Old Town, Petit Saconnex and Saint Gervais

Open since 1861, this beautiful wooded brasserie has not lost its old-fashioned cachet (old bistro counter). Well-prepared French and Italian dishes are served, such as asparagus ravioli gratin or Gotteion trout filet, and of course game dishes in the fall. In the afternoon, you can enjoy the warm and relaxed atmosphere of the terrace. In the evening, you can attend concerts, DJ evenings or football matches on the big screen. It is a real institution in Fribourg.

In a country and bucolic atmosphere, the Auberge des 4 Vents offers a choice of dishes. Of very high quality, the dishes are chosen according to the season. In autumn, we appreciate the hunting menu with candied deer cheeks, in summer the vegetables and fish. The recipes are homemade and you can see the love of cooking in every bite. In the summer, the veranda opens onto the beautifully flowered park and you can enjoy a long lazy day while finishing your meal with a coffee and a good dessert. To keep the pleasure going, the hotel welcomes you.

Located at the summit of the Rochers-de-Naye, it is reached by passing through a 200-metre tunnel. This space was dug into the cliff by the military (former army zone). A feast for the eyes through the bay window, and good traditional cuisine: fondues, cheese crusts, cold plates, all homemade and made with fresh produce brought in daily by train. Service on the magnificent terrace in summer, in front of breathtaking scenery!

The Hilton Café is one of the two restaurants of the Hilton Hotel Geneva, located a stone's throw from the airport and the Palexpo congress centre. Open every day of the week, it allows you to eat from 5:30 am with several breakfast formulas, adapted to your appetite and during the day with an international cuisine in a bright, spacious, design and contemporary. The cuisine is resolutely cosmopolitan. For a Sunday meal with the family, the Hilton Café organizes from midday "les dimanches des p'tits chefs" with lunch and entertainment.

In Murten's oldest cellar or on the terrace, you will be served the regional cuisine of the canton of Fribourg: the best cheeses of the region (in particular those of the Marsens-Vuippens cheese dairy) and meats aged for up to 8 weeks in an on-site meat locker. The fondue here is one of the ten best in Switzerland. The welcome is warm and French is spoken perfectly. The owner, Gilles, is a restaurateur in Murten like all the members of his family.

Within a multi-functional building (crèche, health-social, hairdressing), the restaurant plays a role of animator. In summer, it is pleasant to sit on the large terrace and let yourself be lulled by the sound of the fountain. Barbecues are on the daily menu once a week during the summer and the menu offers Swiss specialities (malakoff, crust and fondue).
