In a 100% natural setting, this restaurant on the outskirts of Auvernier offers entirely organic cuisine. Cheeses, milk and meat come exclusively from the adjoining farm, as do the cereals, which are transformed into delicious homemade bread. From salads and carrot juice to vegetarian dishes, grilled fish, hamburgers and L'Aubier's famous couscous, all dishes are fine and tasty. At L'Aubier, you'll also find serenity and fresh air. You'll be pampered in a warm and invigorating setting.

Certainly one of the best restaurants in Zermatt and the friendliest atmosphere thanks to an owner who is both a chef and an artist. On certain evenings, Dan Daniell, who has been running the restaurant for over 25 years, likes to perform his songs. The cuisine is refined with just the right amount of inventiveness. But the local lamb is still one of the house specialties. Scented with herbs and grilled over a wood fire, the meat is tender and the cooking perfectly mastered. As this is a very popular address, it is best to make a reservation.

The food here is Valais cuisine, richly prepared and served. Good fondues, as successful in the set exercises (boletus fondue) as in the free program (Williams pear fondue). The interior is perfectly rustic, but just as elegant as the kitchen. Service is attentive and friendly, and prices are surprisingly reasonable. The only truly gourmet stopover in Saint-Maurice is conveniently located opposite the train station. In a large building, you'll find a warm, family-style dining room. The cuisine is tasty and refined, based on honest products such as Saint-Bernard lamb and Saxon asparagus. We drink Mr. Zufferey's fine Fendant and enjoy discovering the subtleties of local wines. Service, provided by Patricia, the chef's wife, is as warm as it is professional.

A recent establishment of Paris Zurich Catering, which also holds the restaurant (see article). This establishment specialises in domicile preparation. Subject to strict standards of quality and hygiene, they will save any skepticism! The principle is «take away» but it is also possible to eat on-site, in a small, tastefully decorated lounge. Salads and soups according to season, tartars and desserts, everything goes into practical and aesthetic packaging. A try absolutely!

Run by the Wong family, originally from Hong Kong, Fai Wong offers a wide range of à la carte dishes, including duck served in seven variations: lacquered, with bamboo shoots, with orange... Traditional Chinese fondue is also served, with shrimp, squid, surimi, beef, chicken, bacon, ravioli, mushrooms, cabbage and tofu. The superb antique Chinese-style decor, entirely handmade, may appear opulent, but it blends well with the space and plunges you straight into the atmosphere. The terrace is open in summer.

A small haven of peace between cows and a breathtaking panorama, the café-restaurant in the Tour de Gourze is a pretty chalet with a large terrace. The cuisine is based on local products and specialities such as the beef steak of Châtelard mijoté, the papet vaudois and its cabbage sausage and dares originality with the quail stuffed with fruits from the Hérault. The welcome is friendly and the service professional. Very good wines as well. On request and from 15 people, it is possible to privatize on Saturday evening or to open on Sunday.

The Portobello restaurant presents an original menu with a combination of dishes and vintages of olive oil from the Mediterranean. A successful marriage, sometimes a little surprising at times, especially in the desserts such as the pastilla of figs and apricots with pine nuts and tangerine olive oil or the panacotta with mint olive oil. A strange name for this atypical restaurant, doesn't it? This name comes from the chimney sweeping profession which consists of maintaining and repairing chimneys. It is a tribute to the profession previously practised in this place by Ernest, an ancestor of the present owners. It has been completely redecorated with an flawless design, repainted in dark red and adorned with contemporary artworks. This beautiful industrial area, with a concrete floor and large bay windows, has become the new lively and trendy place of the Acacias district. The restaurant swings between Italian cuisine with its famous antipasti, homemade pasta such as spinach ravioli and truffle oil, and food with Mediterranean influences. You can come with a group of friends whether it is for lunch or in the evening for an aperitif in a trendy spot. Still, note that the open-space side can generate a little resonance depending on the number of customers. Terrace in summer.

A very Carougeois style where the sound of our footsteps on the old parquet floor has something poetic about it.

The old wooden bistro tables and the exposed stones of this café give it a bohemian spirit. We already see ourselves having a good time, and a simple look at the map confirms it.

The Equinoxe is perfect for tasting seasonal dishes and the terrace in summer is fabulous to linger.

A Chinese adage says, "Anything with legs that is not a table, that has wings that is not an airplane, can be eaten!" This restaurant proves it. Traditional Chinese cuisine offering the great classics such as jiaozi (Chinese ravioli), caramelized beef, fish from Sichuan (a region known for its very spicy dishes), etc. A Chinese restaurant where you will be spoilt for choice between fish, pork and seafood. A trip to the land of Chinese gastronomy, particularly rich and creative depending on the region.

We love him without limit! The tables look like a canteen, in the room below. The rest of the coffee seems to have stayed the same for ages. The restaurant even offers specialities such as cordon rouge, prepared with horse meat. The match apples are very good here, as is the meat, and the atmosphere is worthy of the bistro establishments of the 1940s to 1960s, where workers met the elderly, broke students and local residents. Café Saint-Jean is a package of authenticity and essentials in all its splendour! Several assets: a pretty terrace in the heart of wooden constructions on the roof of the CFF tracks of Saint-Jean, in a quiet place. The second one, the owner, with a Geneva accent to be cut with a knife, and who welcomes you with an obvious pleasure, and in the eyes as an invitation to fraternization. The third, a feeling of being a little at home. The fourth, as the master of the house says: "Here, we do little, but we do well".

A strategic location for this crêperie just a stone's throw from St Peter's Cathedral and housed in an old building. One can stop on the pleasant shaded terrace after visiting the remains and cathedral. You can continue to admire the old stones while enjoying a savoury pancake made with buckwheat flour, like the Valais with mushrooms and cured ham, to regain your strength. The place is certainly touristy, but it extends your escapade in the old town. All the more so as there are not many creperies in Geneva!

Contemporary urban chic setting for this Italian-style restaurant-café. The square bar is located at the back of the room and harmoniously overlooks the space. The small intimate cocoon of the round table and its curtain of orange strips is very coveted for sharing the meal. According to your desire, you choose your "Side". The "al dente" side with pastas and a choice of 30 different sauces served in a bowl. The "evolving salads" side with more than twenty proposals. Or the "beef" side. Good atmosphere.

Asian hors d'oeuvre, dishes (beef, pork, shrimp, chicken) Asian, Cantonese or white rice and desserts: Mövenpick ice cream, fruit salad, lychees… delivered to home in collaboration with Pizza Line (same number, possibility of ordering pizza at the same time).

An unpretentious Thai restaurant, with the Asian dishes we know: spring rolls, red curry chicken, or, even more exotic, the chicken marinade filled in its "pandan" leaf. Nothing exceptional at this address, but the food and service is simple and decent, although one can sometimes get impatient at the moment of the shot. A good quality/price ratio.

For lovers of Korea, this is an authentic restaurant full of Korean specialities, including the famous barbecue. The frame is simple, prices are relatively high in the evening, but the kitchen is quality.

Café Gavroche is also an establishment where you can eat well without fuss. An atmosphere of tolerance can be felt in this café-restaurant. Mezzes are offered with portions of hummus, eggplant caviar and other delicious sauces, served with an oriental flatbread. But above all, the place is known for a speciality: the galette du Gavroche. An extremely thin pastry, cooked in a healthy way, to which chicken and goat cheese are added on a base of tomatoes, peppers and aubergines.

An air of Japan and pure gastronomic happiness. The setting is traditional and a large Japanese clientele attests to the excellence of the cuisine. As in Japan, a very wide range of sushi, sashimi, maki and temaki are offered. Everything is a treat, as if we were in the land of the Rising Sun. At the time of writing, the very famous cook has unfortunately deserted the restaurant (hence the closing of the room in the evening). The dishes proposed to taste on the spot at midday or to take away in the evening remain very refined. A recommended address.

We walk on the site as in the aisles of the supermarket, the shopping cart in less and the ancillary shops plus like Switcher or boots. There is even wine or flowers! Opened in 1898 by winegrowers from Veyrier to sell local production, the Salève Circle has remained a prétention village bistro, but it is a lively place to stop the Salève return. In "Neu-Neu", we eat simple and efficient cuisine: tender coffee, steak tartar, perch, salads, schublig strips or fondue. To stay in the spirit of its creation, the boss of the circle also offers a selection of Geneva wines, including the «Rives de l'Arve», wines from the village to be discovered.
