26 reviews
Open - Close in 1 minutes

The Richard family has been working with olives since 1885. The first mill in Nyons was inaugurated in 1922. Then came the move to Aouste-sur-Sye in 1958, and finally the inauguration of the new Montoison mill, dedicated to walnuts and rapeseed, in 2006, with its direct sales boutique. Huilerie Richard now has 19 truck stores, 10 stores and 4 mills. The know-how and rigorous extraction methods used to produce our oils have remained unchanged for 140 years. In the Drôme region, you can buy direct in Montoison, next to the mill dedicated to the production of roasted walnuts, hazelnuts and rapeseed, but also in Aouste-sur-Sye in a pretty stone store, and finally in Nyons, in the store next to the olive oil mill. Come and discover the expertise of an Artisan Moulinier at the Montoison Boutique, where you'll be told the story of the Maison Richard during a tasting session at the oil bar, followed by a tour of the mill. A fascinating and gourmet immersion.

Alongside olive oil, the ancestral star, and olive by-products, the company has expanded its range to include gourmet oils, a host of sweet and savoury grocery products, as well as spreads and other gourmet products. L'huilerie Richard has also thought of your well-being with a fine selection of beauty and home products. For a unique experience, take a seat at the oil bar and dare a tasting!

At Domaine de Prapin, a family-run vineyard for 6 generations, Coteaux du Lyonnais wines flourish naturally. The Gamay grape, grown entirely organically and biodynamically on 10 hectares, expresses itself fully, giving full expression to its excellence, with powerful notes of black pepper, in a cuvée aged in oak barrels. Atypically, the Terre de Silène cuvée is vinified, macerated and aged in terracotta amphora. A terroir, wines to discover and a passion to share during wine-tourism activities (oenoludic workshops, tasting tours, mâchon...) upon reservation.

The last factory of scourtins (circular filters used for oil extraction) in France is in Nyons, where Ferdinand Fert founded it in 1882. Although the freeze of 1956 nearly bankrupted this craft, today Frédérique and Arnaud Fert, his great-grandchildren, continue to make them as decorative objects. In their workshop, still using coconut fiber, they make scourtins that will become interior mats, bath mats, trivets or place mats. And don't miss the beautiful store.

The best jams are made by Philippe Bruneton. Member of the Collège Culinaire de France, elected Meilleur Confiturier de France. This enthusiast is as demanding in his selection of fruit, sourced from the region's small producers - starting with apples from Pilat - as he is in his working methods, using more fruit than sugar. The jams are available in a range of collections, including Fruits et Chocolat, made with Weiss chocolate. Culinary aids, fruit pastes, coulis, syrups... More than jams, real desserts.

LA GRANGE

This barn is the result of a group of ten or so producers from the Drôme and Ardèche who decided to open and run a direct sales shop at the entrance to Saint-Péray, ideal for shopping. On the shelves, the delicious wines of Pascal Jamet, producer in Arras-sur-Rhône, the beef and pears of Philippe and Florent Cros in Boffres, the vegetables of Rosa and Jean-Pierre Vial in Bourg-lès-Valence, the goat and ewe's milk cheeses of Nathalie and Alain Noyer in Mariac, the jams and chestnut cream of Martine, Michel and Aurélien Grange in Lamastre, fruit from Jean-Paul Laprat in Saint-Laurent-du-Pape, eggs, potatoes, raspberries and chestnuts from Véronique, André and Fabien Moins in Chalencon, lamb from Sylvie Volle in Dornas and charcuterie from Pascal Robin in Rochessauve. Among the newcomers in the house: Yann-Vari Carel from Mas de Barral in Marsanne, for ducks and duck foie gras, and Eric Roumeysi from Ardoix for chickens, guinea fowl and other poultry. And to get to know all these producers who are committed to quality, a film shows you the daily work on the farms. More than one reason to stop by. An address recommended by the Futé. And keep an eye out on Facebook: tasting days are regularly organised by this or that producer around ostrich meat, ewe's milk yoghurt... A very nice initiative that deserves a detour to shop, bring back souvenirs...
