Between 1912 and 1971, a railroad line took spa-goers from Riom to Châtel-Guyon. Now disused, the former railroad line is now home to a "voie verte" (greenway), ideal for soft mobility. Walkers, cyclists and even families with young children in baby carriages can enjoy a 2.5-kilometre walk on stabilized ground. Once you've reached the final lookout point, you can choose to do the same in the opposite direction, or continue towards the Ambène greenway on the other side of the ring road.

Lessons are given in the riding arena, for all ages and sizes. Even baby riders can join in the fun, as soon as they're able to walk. The school has around fifty beautiful Merens and Auvergnats for breeding and maintenance.

Fancy trying out a new activity? Biathlon is coming to La Stèle this year. On the program: cross-country skiing and archery. The track is just under a kilometer long, with a penalty ring, a 10 m and 50 m shooting range and a fun zone. No fewer than 15 shooting lanes are available for groups. This activity can be enjoyed alone or with a teacher. Advantage: this activity is adapted to be practiced in the middle of summer, without snow. A new discovery in the Auvergne!

Auvergne Traineau is a dog sledding service based in La Bourboule, Auvergne. Run by Julien, a qualified professional musher, and his pack of around 30 dogs, Auvergne Traineau can turn your vacation into an unforgettable experience. Whether by sled, cani-kart or cani-marche, you can discover the wonderful tracks of the Charlannes plateau all year round. Services are available for cani-karters aged 3 and over, and for cani-walkers aged 6 and over, and are also suitable for people with reduced mobility. With Funcross, thrill-seekers can discover the Auvergne Tuscany on a GPS-guided off-road electric scooter. Allow 2 hours non-stop to cover one of the three 30-kilometer circuits. Departing from Espirat, the velorail follows the old Billom-Vertaizon railroad line for 5 kilometers. The round trip takes 1h30. The route is clear and offers 360° panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, the Limagne plain and its ancient volcanic hills. Although the velorail is not electric, it's an ideal activity for the whole family: parents pedal up front, while children enjoy the ride from the comfort of the back seat. Les Cant'âniers is a non-profit organization based in Albepierre-Bredons, in the Cantal region of the Auvergne. Their aim is to promote the Cantal and hiking "differently" by offering hikes accompanied by a donkey driver and donkeys.
