Housed in a crater with almost perfectly circular contour, Pavin Lake has a supernatural appearance. According to season and climate, its waters vary from turquoise blue to very dark grey, due to the depth of its centre: 93 metres. Legend tells us that it houses a submerged city, drowned by the Devil's tears! If it is a natural curiosity, it does not pose any danger. A trail allows you to turn around in 1 h at the edge of the wood surrounding it.

You will surely be married to fishermen and mountaineers who also enjoy this atypical decor.

It's THE must-see event of the summer in Issoire! Every Friday evening (note the pun), the city center comes alive with free events and activities: night markets, concerts, outdoor film screenings, DJ sets, demonstrations... There is something for everyone! Each Friday evening has its own theme: family, sports, animals, world flavors, Auvergne day... For the occasion, some streets and boulevards become entirely pedestrian, allowing restaurants to extend their terraces. Convivial and festive!

Like John... like who? John? Why John? Why John? Maybe they'll tell you that at a concert. They, because Like John it is a duo: Claire and Gaëlle, composers, authors, singers, musicians. On stage, they accompany their voices on the flute, cello and other strings and electronic rhythms. Their music and lyrics bounce like light and acidic bubbles of life that we cross with joy, while leaving a small place for a sweet melancholy. The pep of the duo and their incisive and always welcome humour plunge the spectator into their universe. A beautiful French/English pop that makes you want to see them and see them again.

This is the great rendez-vous of the whirlpool fanatics who meet each year in the courtyard of the abbey, the festival's historic site. It's the meeting point for the festival makers, the public, volunteers and trainees, and you can find food, info, ticketing and products in the shop. The scene of the village hosts live concerts every day, and the young public is not forgotten, while the Saint-Théofrède church with ideal acoustics is perfect for chamber music training and large staff (orchestras, large ensembles of copper). Avenue Laurent-Eynac, La Brass Room hosts concerts, jam-sessions every night at 11:00 p. m. It is the rendez-vous of improvisers who play in the true spirit of a jazz club.

Notice to film lovers! Created in 2010, this film festival honors a country each year (Spain in 2023, the USA in 2020, Iran in 2016...). During two weeks, the public can discover more than 70 films projected in various places of the Country of Issoire (Issoire, Apchat, Brassac-les-Mines...). Some films are shown for the first time in France, Europe or even the world! Master class and animations for children also punctuate the week.

L'Embouteillage N7 de Lapalisse is an event that takes place every two years, on the second weekend in October. During this vintage weekend, enthusiasts from all over France and even Europe gather in the village of Lapalisse. This unique historical re-enactment lets you relive the atmosphere of vacation departures on the Nationale 7 in the 1950s and 1960s, with period vehicles (cars, caravans, motorcycles...) and participants dressed in retro clothing.

Back in the past every two years not to be missed in Lapalisse with the traffic jams of the years 1950-1960 of the departures in vacations on the national 7. The famous N7 is the opportunity to relive this beautiful era with about 1,000 vehicles present, cars, caravans, motorcycles ... Participants come from all over France and even Europe in period clothing. Vintage atmosphere guaranteed with animations, concerts, elegance contest and many exhibitors.
