La Pecora Bianca
Read moreLa Pecora Bianca is one of New York's most popular Italian restaurant chains, with no fewer than six locations in Manhattan. This one is just across the street from Bryant Park, and offers a very pleasant modern setting. The large room is bright, welcoming and carefully decorated. The menu doesn't offer anything spectacular, but the pizzas and pastas are good (with a special mention for the Cacio e Pepe, both in its usual form and as fritters for starters). In the evening, reservations are recommended.
19 Cleveland
Read moreBetween Nolita and Soho, this restaurant offers Mediterranean cuisine, with dishes from Israel, Turkey, Lebanon, Greece... On the menu, a few pasta dishes and a hamburger squeeze in between chicken shawarma, falafel and Greek-style lamb chops. Prices are a little high but portions are gargantuan, so feel free to share. In the evenings, especially on weekends, the atmosphere is festive, the restaurant is packed, the sound volume is high... and the average age must be around 25!
Pavé
Read moreA café in the heart of Midtown, with the advantage of a long, pleasant room and plenty of tables. So it's easy to settle in between two visits, for a coffee break or lunch without breaking the bank. The croissants are worthy of a French bakery, the salads are gigantic and the sandwiches and tartines are very good, although we'd prefer them a little bigger. The decor, half-rustic half-industrial with exposed brick walls, is very pleasant, and the service is fast.
Los Tacos No. 1
Read moreFor many, these are the best tacos in New York... This probably explains why this restaurant, which has no seating whatsoever, is always so busy! You have to order at the counter and eat standing up, but it's not for the service or the comfort that you go there. It's true that the tacos are delicious, and served very quickly. There are several restaurants of this chain in Manhattan; this one is in the theater district and is ideal for a quick bite before or after attending a show.
Olio e Più
Read moreWalking along 6th Avenue, it's impossible to miss this large, flowery establishment located at the intersection with Greenwich Avenue. The Italian cuisine is here in all its forms, and we especially enjoy the homemade pasta dishes. The pizzas are cooked on a wood fire and the veal paupiettes seem to have been concocted by an Italian mamma. If the food is authentic, the atmosphere is also reminiscent of a real trattoria: friendly, lively, crowded! As for the rustic decoration, it is very pleasant.
Lafayette Grand Café & Bakery
Read moreA restaurant inspired by French-style brasseries, from the plate (steak tartare, roast chicken, foie gras, fried mussels, etc.) to the decor. In 2022, the place, which also offers a small bakery corner, launched the Supreme, a cream-filled pastry halfway between the croissant and the donut, which made a buzz on social networks. To taste it, you have to organize yourself because the Supreme is sold only three times a day at 8am, 12pm and 4pm, and in limited quantities.
BLACK TAP
Read moreA great place to eat a burger after walking through Times Square or seeing a musical. The large restaurant room, decorated with street art, is always full, especially when the Broadway theatres are emptying of their spectators. Here, you don't have to look for noon to two o'clock: you opt for the burger... but you still have to know which one, since the menu offers a good dozen! Those with wagyu beef are particularly tasty, and the cooking is respected. A very good option in the neighbourhood.
WHITE TIGER
Read moreWalking along Vanderbilt Avenue, which leads to Prospect Park, one discovers some very nice international cuisine. With White Tiger, we embark on a trip to Korea, without having to go through the barbecue! First of all, you'll be seduced by the small plates, ideal for discovering a maximum of flavours, or you'll go straight for the main dishes, which are very copious: lots of soups and noodle-based plates, accompanied by mushrooms, marinated pork, sautéed beef and other perfectly seasoned vegetables.
Locanda vini e olii
Read moreAnother great tribute to Italian food with this restaurant that offers northern Italian cuisine. Having grown up in Milan for one and Florence for the other, the owner couple had the desire to introduce Brooklynites to the dishes they grew up with. Most of the menu items have their roots in the Tuscan and Florentine tradition. For 4 or more people, a Tuscan family menu is offered. All of this is enjoyed in a charmingly old-fashioned setting inherited from the former pharmacy that once occupied the premises.
AITA
Read moreIn the heart of the charming Clinton Hill district, this Italian restaurant combines all the essentials for a successful romantic dinner or a dinner with friends: a warm atmosphere, absolutely tasty traditional dishes and welcoming waiters who announce the dishes of the day with a singing accent that does not deceive. If the pasta is unanimously appreciated (the paccheri with wild boar won us over!), don't hesitate to let yourself be tempted by one of the main courses, including the sole with lemon, light and perfectly seasoned. An address with a crazy charm.
BANTER NYC
Read moreWe love this bright and pleasantly decorated Australian café, which offers brunch specialties. There are no surprises on the menu, which focuses on eggs, served as an omelette, with bacon, or just as you like them. Australians eat them scrambled and then "folded": order the folded eggs for a taste. Sandwiches, salads and wraps are just as good, with a healthy twist (quinoa, avocado and kale salad galore). With sweet potato fries, of course.
RUBY'S
Read moreCoffee, yes, but Australian, please! Brunch restaurants with the Down Under label are all the rage in New York. It must be said that the Australians are pros at breakfast, too. Ruby's stands out for its surfy decor, which gives the impression of being on the beach. Apart from the classic breakfast dishes, simple and well executed, let yourself be tempted by the Vegemite toast (don't spread too much, for starters...). The burgers, especially the Bronte (with toasted bread slices), are excellent.
Monument Restaurant & Tavern
Read moreAfter your discovery of Charlestown, why not take a break in this pleasant restaurant that offers good American food? Pizzas, burgers and salads are hearty and tasty, and for dinner, more elaborate dishes are also on the menu, including beautiful pieces of meat cooked to perfection. The place is also very popular for weekend brunch, and the omelettes and sandwiches are excellent!
LEDGER
Read moreOne of the most popular tables in Salem offers a warm setting with its wooden tables, brick walls and high ceiling where beautiful lighting fixtures hang. The chef's cuisine is American, modern, the dishes are inventive and tasty, like cod a la plancha served with a creamy polenta. On weekends, it is especially for brunch that the place is popular: eggs Benedict and avocado toast are excellent. Donuts are to be damned, ask your waiter what the speciality of the day is.
Taiyaki NYC
Read moreThis multicoloured ice cream with its fish-shaped cone is as delicious as it is beautiful! It's a concept that comes straight from Japan. Apart from vanilla, strawberry and the inevitable chocolate, the ice cream comes in unexpected flavours with Asian influences, such as matcha and black sesame. The tip of the cone is filled with anko, a typically Japanese red bean paste. The biscuit, by the way, is as good as ice cream. It's surprising, excellent and, not to spoil anything, beautiful to see.
Life Alive Organic Cafe
Read moreThis is the perfect place for a quick and healthy lunch break! Harvard students love this warm place with its vintage and colorful decor. Vegetarians, vegans and those who are careful with their diet will find plenty to please themselves, from hearty mixed salads, bowls of gourmet seeds and vegetables to wraps, served grilled or not. You can also come here for breakfast or a snack, the smoothies and bowls of acai are delicious. A nice address, which changes a little bit from the classic American restaurants.
ALL STAR SANDWICH BAR
Read moreHere, there's no mystery: the star is the sandwich, which comes in a multitude of shapes and flavours. But don't expect to find a ham and butter in a crispy baguette on the menu, it's American specialties that are highlighted in this brightly coloured little café. It's time to use your imagination by opting for the Japanese-inspired Mr. Miyagi, the Cubano, made with braised pork shreds, or one of the vegetarian options, which are just as copious. Simple and effective.
BARTACO
Read moreBartaco is, as the name suggests, a taco bar. The menu is divided into two sections: Tacos and Not Tacos. It's hard to go wrong! Once you've settled in, you order using your smartphone and a QR code. The service is fast and very pleasant. The tacos aren't very big, but they're good, and the selection is rather varied: shrimp, pork belly, beef, spicy chicken, vegetarian... The place is lively, especially in the evening. You can sit along the bar and eat while chatting with your neighbors!
STATE STREET PROVISIONS
Read moreThis large restaurant plays the modern-day tavern card: the atmosphere is dark and warm, there are skai banquettes and the large U-shaped bar seems to be the centerpiece of the place. The gigantic menu features local specialties (seafood platter, clam chowder and lobster roll) alongside various American classics(chicken wings, breaded pork chops with mashed potatoes, cheeseburger, etc.), all of which are rather hearty. Something for everyone's taste buds! Large terrace for sunny days.
Committee
Read moreA spacious, light-filled restaurant with large bay windows, offering Greek cuisine with an emphasis on mezze, those little dishes ideal for sharing. Among the choices are fish mezzés (octopus and broad bean purée, grilled shrimps, scallops and spinach gnocchi...) and meat mezzés (chicken and shiitake mushrooms, soy-marinated pork belly...), but above all a fine selection of vegetarian mezzés (roasted beet, zucchini chips, poached asparagus or the famousspanakopita, a Greek-style spinach puff pastry).
RAMSAY'S KITCHEN
Read moreWho doesn't love eggplants? Go to Gordon Ramsay's, you'll never taste such tasty ones! The classic " fish & chips " and " cheakpea tikka masala " also turn all preconceptions on their head. Gordon Ramsay, the world-famous British chef, famous for his culinary talents and outspokenness on TV, host of several cooking shows and owner of numerous Michelin-starred restaurants in England and the United States, is unanimously acclaimed. The bill may be steep, but nothing leaves anything to be desired.

Animal products are no exception. All in a warm, contemporary atmosphere, overlooking the port.
POKEWORKS
Read moreOriginally from Hawaii, the poke bowl (pronounced "poké") is a delicious culinary specialty that is a hit all over the United States. The principle: a bowl, rice, ultra-fresh raw fish and a few ingredients to suit everyone's taste. Traditionally, the poke is made with raw tuna, green onion, soy sauce and sesame seeds. Here you can choose from the house specialities or make your own poke. It's excellent, very fresh, and it's a bit different from the usual American food!
7A FOODS
Read moreThis small café offers simple and healthy food, but it's still tasty! The dishes are made from seasonal and regional ingredients. You can stop there to stock up on cookies or scones for breakfast, or opt for one of the wraps and sandwiches on the menu. Even the coffee is local, coming from the Chilmark Coffee Company, based at Martha's Vineyard. The place also has a delicatessen. There are a few benches for eating outside. Not bad for refueling before you hit the road!
FEATHER & WEDGE
Read moreIn Rockport, you won't find better! It's undoubtedly one of the best addresses in the area. Open all year round, Feather & Wedge enjoys a solid reputation. Reservations are highly recommended, as the restaurant is so coveted for its warm, contemporary setting and Mediterranean-inspired bistronomic cuisine.
