DEV'S ON STATE
Read moreThis restaurant specializes in tapas and fusion cuisine, with Asian and Latin flavors, but also offers American cuisine, which is good though not very surprising. On the menu are all the American classics, from burgers to meatballs to pan-fried salmon, as well as curry noodles and fish with chorizo. You might as well say that it's a joyful mix of genres, and the menu is as long as your arm, but the dishes are all in all rather good and hearty! The atmosphere, finally, is very friendly.
GUILFORD MOORING
Read moreThis is a traditional American restaurant, with two rooms and two distinct atmospheres: the restaurant and the bar. Whichever you choose, you will be facing the sea as the Mooring is located at the foot of the Guilford Marina. The menu is faithful to the classics of the region: lobster roll, clam chowder, crab cakes... more original, the lobster paella, very very very refreshing. The atmosphere is relaxed and good-natured. The building that houses the restaurant, with its characteristic granite walls, dates back to 1838.
MAISON MATHIS
Read moreA Belgian café that is a great stop before or after your visit to the Yale campus, as it's just a short walk from the university. The café serves waffles, of course, but also hearty sandwiches, salads and a variety of breakfast dishes, all in a clean and modern setting. The smoothies and juices, made right before our eyes, are delicious and full of vitamins. The place is very popular with university students, who meet there after classes.
CLAIRE'S CORNER COPIA
Read moreA very popular place among the Yale student body. It is famous for its vegetarian, all-kosher dishes and its rich cakes. The menu, which is displayed behind the counter where you can order before settling in, is very varied and offers salads, sandwiches, Mexican dishes, quiches and, more original, plates of roasted organic vegetables. The whole is very healthy, so don't hesitate to treat yourself to a huge slice of cake or a cupcake covered with a thick layer of icing for dessert.
GRACIE'S BAR AND GRILLE
Read moreOpened in 1998, Gracie's is considered Providence's flagship. Chef Matthew Varga offers refined cuisine inspired by seasonal produce. The entire staff, from the pastry chef to the sommelier to the room manager, is dedicated to making your dinner a unique experience. The dishes are tasty, from duck with cherries to tagliatelle with squash and foie gras as a starter. This is a table that does not rest on its laurels and that vibrates with passion night after night.
FLO'S CLAM SHACK
Read moreLobster rolls and fried clams are a must at this unpretentious little snack bar that has been open since 1936. The prices are a little high but the freshness of the products is well worth it. You can eat on site or order take-out food at the drive-in. If you decide to eat indoors, you will enjoy the very eclectic decor of the place: fishing net hanging from the ceiling, frames on the wall retracing the maritime history of the city next to posters of the Jaws... There is also a small balcony upstairs for eating outside.
THE ATLANTIC INN
Read moreFrom the very large kitchen, with impeccable service.
EAST SIDE POCKETS
Read moreThe locals recommend without hesitation East Side Pockets, a good address for a quick lunch without spending too much money. The service is efficient and friendly, the food is rather healthy and tasty. Mediterranean and Middle Eastern specialties are eaten there: gyros, baklavas, hummus wraps, stuffed vine leaves, etc. But it is especially the falafels which are unavoidable! There are a few seats inside and outside, but the dishes can be ordered very well to take away. Efficient and cheap.
AMY'S PLACE
Read moreA small neighbourhood restaurant very appreciated by the inhabitants, who are numerous to come and eat a copious breakfast. You can enjoy omelettes, pancakes, French toast or the burger, available in vegetarian version. It is necessary to order at the counter before settling down around a table or on the stools overlooking the street. In the summer, the terrace is particularly pleasant. In addition to the dishes, the menu offers a wide selection of smoothies. A pleasant address that focuses on simplicity and efficiency.

Read moreA nice address that is a bit eccentric and cheap, with a cosy atmosphere. Here you can have lunch with an excellent panini or a salad with a milkshake or even a pastry. A must of the address, fries cooked in duck fat (it is from this ultra rich specialty that the name of the restaurant was born)! It is a family establishment, which enjoys an excellent reputation among locals and tourists, who return to the area. Be prepared to queue in season.

Located on the harbour, this restaurant, whose outdoor dining room and tables are overrun by holidaymakers in the summer, serves good food in a simple manner. You can order a sandwich with fries, such as lobster or a plate of seafood. There are also salads, meat, and a children's menu. The atmosphere is holiday, relaxed, and the terrace is particularly pleasant.

SEA LEVEL OYSTER BAR
Read moreWe really like this restaurant with a view of the National Maritime Site schooner and the beautiful port of Salem. We eat here all the specialties of New England, starting with lobster! Whether you like it hot, cold, in a roll, steamed or crab-filled, it doesn't disappoint. Also try the seafood and shrimp, which are ultra fresh and tasty. A beautiful address, where the service is attentive. On fine days, the terrace set up near the port, with its accompanying fragrances, is particularly pleasant.
POT AU FEU
Read moreIf you miss the French cuisine, you will definitely have to stop off at the Pot au Feu. In addition to the famous pot au feu, served unstructured (it's up to you to pour the sauce over the different elements in the plate), you can enjoy tournedos, bouillabaisse, cassoulet or even beef bourguignon! Don't miss as a starter the onion soup and the country terrine. Between the food and the atmosphere - white tablecloths and a subdued atmosphere - it really feels like you're in a neighbourhood restaurant in France.

The Viand
Read moreFor a taste of the Upper West Side atmosphere, there's nothing better than lunch at this diner filled with regulars and located one block from Central Park. Here, customers know the waiters by their first name and leave them generous tips. As far as the menu is concerned, nothing very surprising since we find the usual omelettes and other sandwiches so copious that we have trouble finishing our plate. Better to share the pancakes and French toasts. One rinses the whole with a good cup of filtered coffee, and the business is played.
Tom’s Restaurant
Read moreThis is one of the most popular places in the neighborhood to eat a good American breakfast. You can soak up the old diner atmosphere by sitting on one of the benches or admiring the kitschy decor (as it should be). The menu does not change, all day long copious breakfast specialties are offered: omelets or eggs served with pastrami, corned beef or fish cakes, and always accompanied by potatoes and toast with jam. Also waffles, burgers, French toast, etc. Efficient and inexpensive.
THE BONNIE
Read moreThe Bonnie, with its cool courtyard, is one of the liveliest spots in the Astoria neighborhood. For dinner, you'll find hearty, well-crafted American fare: burgers, sandwiches, salads, mac & cheese and more. On weekends, locals flock here for the unmissable brunch, where egg-based dishes are washed down with cocktails or unlimited coffee. At the end of the evening, especially on weekends, the atmosphere warms up, the lights are dimmed, people talk loudly or listen to live musicin the back room.
nom wah tea parlor
Read moreThe oldest restaurant in Chinatown, open continuously since 1920. The street where it is located, Doyers Street, is also unique, as it is curved, something very rare in Manhattan. But back to Nom Wah Tea Parlor: the restaurant serves dim sums, delicious steamed raviolis, among other specialties of the Cantonese cuisine. Nothing very luxurious or gastronomic, but Nom Wah Tea Parlor is one of those places that any New Yorker worth his salt should know. Dozens of movies and series have been filmed here and on Doyers Street.
Hector's Cafe & Diner
Read moreHector's has been a fixture in the Meatpacking District since the 1950s. With its old-fashioned decor and simple, hearty dishes, this diner is a world away from the places that have flourished in the neighborhood in recent years. The omelets, burgers, milkshakes and other pancakes do the job without being incredible, the setting is not trendy and the service is efficient and fast. The experience, on the other hand, is authentically New York and worth the detour. At night, this is where the hungry party people of the neighborhood meet.

Bar Pisellino
Read moreHere is an Italian bar and café whose concept is simply to honor the " arte de bere ", or the art of drinking. When you walk through the door of Bar Pisellino, you have the feeling of entering a café in Rome or Florence, as the decor is so faithfully rendered. In the tiny interior there is an imposing bar, behind which espressos and cappuccinos are prepared, as well as excellent cocktails, including the inevitable spritz (served on draught!) or the espresso martini. To rub shoulders with the bourgeois clientele of Greenwich Village.
GENESIS HOUSE
Read moreGenesis House is a sanctuary where Korean gastronomy and automobiles come together, for an incredibly designer result. You enter through a showroom displaying cars from the luxury Genesis brand. The restaurant, upstairs, is the New York version of Onjium, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Seoul. The dishes, based on royal recipes from the 1300s, are as delicious as they are unexpected. As for the service, it's attentive and very sharp. The manager is French and very welcoming. Best selection of Korean spirits in town.
URBAN HAWKER
Read moreA hawker is, in Singapore, a market that gathers all kinds of food stalls. The concept has been taken up quite effectively in this place which gathers about twenty vendors offering various Asian dishes and drinks, especially from South-East Asia: fried rice, dim sums, sate, nasi lemak or the famous Kopi (the Singapore version of coffee). Everyone can order his dish at the stand of his choice and then meet his friends at one of the tables of this covered market. Not bad to eat on the go during your discovery of Midtown.
MARK'S OFF MADISON
Read moreThis restaurant, opened in 2020 by Mark Strausman, a long-time chef, appears typical of New York with its menu that oscillates between Italian and Central European Jewish cuisines. Unfortunately, however, we weren't very convinced by the tasteless clam pasta or the so-called bouillabaisse, which was sorely lacking in fish, and even less so by the waiter who got the wrong dish but didn't make the exchange. We did, however, appreciate the terrace where you can enjoy the Manhattan atmosphere, just a stone's throw from Madison Square Park.
TONE CAFE
Read moreNicknamed Little Odessa because of its large community of Russian Jewish immigrants, the Brighton Beach neighborhood is home to many restaurants serving Imperial Russian dishes. In this café, one can enjoy simple, hearty and traditional Georgian cuisine. In the clay oven, breads are baked that serve as the basis for many Georgian dishes, including the delicious Khachapuri, a bread filled with cheese and topped with an egg. The meat fritter soup, called Khinakli, is another staple of the menu.
Tacombi
Read moreThe story of Tacombi begins in 2006 on board a minivan on a beach in Yucatán. In 2010, the adventure continues in New York and Tacombi becomes a true international success story . The Big Apple already has a dozen restaurants, and this is just the beginning. On the menu, quesadillas, burritas and especially tacos, including the famous tacos al pastor. In fact, you can see the trumpet of meat that turns, as in the making of a kebab. Good, fast, cheap and at the foot of the Empire State Building... What more could you ask for?

Xi'an Famous Foods
Read moreIt's not easy to find a place to eat for less than 15 US$ on the Upper East Side, but this one fits the bill perfectly... for those who like spicy food. This brand, which has several restaurants in New York, has appeared many times on the small screen and in the press. It features Western Chinese specialties, including the excellent homemade noodles (the technique is to pull the dough by hand) served with pork or beef stew. Some non-spicy dishes are on the menu.
Rosetta Bakery
Read moreA Miami-based brand offering Italian pastries and viennoiseries. You order at the counter before taking a seat in the dining room. The organization is a little chaotic, but the tiramisu and bomboloni, among others, are as good as they are pretty. You can also order sandwiches, slices of pizza and various types of focaccia (ham, cheese, vegetables, etc.). Not bad for a quick bite before a show at Lincoln Center, or for a coffee break while exploring the neighborhood.
CHEZ JOSEPHINE
Read moreThis restaurant, which pays tribute to Josephine Baker, was founded by one of her twelve children, her adopted son Jean-Claude Baker. The place transports diners into another world, that of the Parisian Roaring Twenties, of which Josephine remains without doubt the most emblematic artist. Midnight blue ceiling, red velvet walls and vintage posters depicting the pantheonized star... Chez Josephine offers classic and well-made French cuisine, but one comes less for the food than for the atmosphere and the piano evenings.
Mekelburg's
Read moreThis is a great place, with another address in Williamsburg, ideal for relaxing in a half-hipster, half-convivial atmosphere, with plenty of Brooklyn-made beers. On Mondays, chicken wings are only 25 cents each when you order a drink. During the week, the happy hour is also well worth it. On the food side, they don't mess around: check out the Slab Bacon, a baked potato topped with raclette cheese and a huge slice of bacon. Mekelburg's has a terrace, a small gourmet supermarket and a bar.
