Monuments to visit Châteaux de la Loire

Located in Montrésor, 4 km from the town of Loches, Château-monastère de la Corroirie is a picturesque hotel set in 150 hectares of wooded grounds. It houses a church dating back to 1208 and offers 5 period rooms with medieval decor, exposed wooden beams and private bathrooms. Some rooms offer views of the forest or garden. Continental breakfast is included and can be served in a cosy lounge or in the garden. There's also a church, a dining room, a jogging track and a swimming and fishing pond. Dinner and guided tours are available at an additional cost. The castle-monastery tourist and cultural site is open from Easter to All Saints' Day, from 11am to 7pm.

It is one of the largest cave properties of Indre-et-Loire, carved in the rock in the th century. It was inhabited by the marchioness de Doisonville and then by Mr. Taboureau de Boisdenier, entrepreneur of Les Works du Roy. Built on two levels (20 m and 50 m), it dominates the Loire and offers beautiful landscapes on the river. On its side and behind it, a large oak forest allows you to enjoy beautiful strolls and greenery. You can borrow a staircase in the rock to finish the visit. Parking is located right opposite the manor house on the other side of the National 152. Be careful by crossing the road. Today, the manor serves as a wine museum.

This city has a very rich heritage: castle, Saint John Baptiste College, and the medieval village with the Halle Hall and the Chancellor's house. There are numerous walks, including on the banks of the Indrois. Château Gaillard is a royal estate located in Amboise, in the Loire Valley. Built in 1496 by Charles VIII, the château is a true jewel of the French Renaissance. The estate also has a rich history, having been home to kings such as Charles VIII, Louis XII and François I. It has also been the scene of many historic events.
