LA VIEILLE HALLE
A not-to-be-missed upstairs hall, now housing exhibitions, markets and festive events under its wooden columns
A multi-storey market hall, one of the last in France! Legend has it that it was built with surplus wood from the Château de Villesavin... From the 16th century onwards, it has been the venue for markets, bringing life to the village. After a number of ups and downs - it was sold in 1827 for 1839 francs (around €8800) and underwent a series of renovations - it was given a new lease of life in the 1960s by enthusiasts and the association Les Amis de la Halle. Today, under its wooden columns, it hosts exhibitions (April to October), markets and festive events.
