FONTAINE SAINT MY
A stopover with a sip of water in homage to the hermit healer, whose relics rest in the Huisseau church
In the 5th century, a hermit healer named Saint-My lived near the Cosson river. Secluded in a cave, he listened to the sick through a narrow opening, the "ostolium", and prescribed a remedy: drink the water from his fountain on an empty stomach, accompanied by prayers. His cult endured, and a chapel (the Vieille Église behind the media library) was dedicated to him in the 11th century, and he was celebrated every May 23. Today, his relics rest in the Huisseau church, and his restored fountain is a reminder of the legend. A place to stop and take a sip of water in homage!
