Since 1971, every year in July at the Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer and Domaine Paul Ricard in Méjanes (near Arles), the Horse Festival is taking place. This Feria of the horse brings together the greatest equestrian artists (Lucien Gruss, for example) and the horse becomes king on flamenco air. The programme is wide (show sound and light, bullfighting… on horseback, contests, demonstrations of equestrian art and Du, all on music background (wineries, peñas, bandas…). It is the annual rendez-vous of all chevaux and camarguaise culture: this clearly means thousands of people!

The association for the preservation of heritage and knowledge of the Seillonnaise tradition organizes a day around the harvest, with the hype of wheat to the roll of stone, cooking in a traditional oven and making unleavened bread.

The Castellet track, or circuit Paul-Ricard, celebrates its 50th anniversary! Created in 1970 by Paul Ricard, the famous automobile circuit is a mythical track where the French F1 Grand Prix takes place every year. Born from the very impulse of Paul Ricard with the support of drivers such as Jean-Pierre Beltoise and Henri Pescarolo in the 1970s, it is one of the most beautiful tracks in Europe, spread over 5.8 km, which can boast no less than 13 bends and a straight line called Mistral 1.8 km long. The Festival International de Flamenco de Marseille is now an annual meeting of fans of Spanish music and dance. A colourful high-quality festival. The Marseille Operettas and musical theatre contest is a national and international competition organized by the municipality every year. It is open without distinction to all French or foreign performers. With an international reputation, he promotes new talent in the field of opera and musical theatre. Don't hesitate to discover them, because the tests are public. Candidates may present themselves either as soloist or duo in one of the following three categories: song, fantasy, musical comedy (without microphone). If they wish, candidates registered in the "duettistes" category will also be able to present themselves individually, subject to a second registration file. Candidates will propose at the time of registration, five pieces or pairs of their choice, of which at least two will belong to the French directory: a piece or duo for the eliminatory test, two pieces or pairs for the semi-final, two pieces or pairs for the final. The Théâtralia is a week entirely dedicated to theatre in all its forms (dance, music, photo), open to a wide audience in the heart of downtown Marseille, the Centre Bourse. During this week devoted to live show, the theatres and artists of Marseille will present excerpts from their creations and the programming of their upcoming season. In 2018, the race will celebrate its 40 years! We are looking forward to the festivities. Usually, it proposes 3 routes - departures at 13 h 30, 14 h and 15 h depending on levels - but all leave the rue de la République and end the Clock Place.

Created in 2016, this festival takes place every year at the end of May, as if to festively celebrate the return of fine weather. It takes place at the Friche Belle-de-Mai, an inspiring hybrid cultural venue. An IN festival and an OFF festival for Bon Air, each year bringing together thousands of festival-goers to enjoy a cutting-edge, eclectic program of contemporary, especially electronic, music. International stars and up-and-coming talents share the various stages spread across this former industrial complex.

Dix Mille Tours du Castellet is an annual race organized by Peter Auto on the famous Paul Ricard circuit in Le Castellet, Var. Depending on the grid, it uses both tracks, the F1 Grand Prix track and the other one without the northern chicane with the Mistral straight line allowing to reach 300 km/h for the Group C Racing prototypes. The Dix Mille Tours du Castellet is also the presence of car clubs (vehicles before 1971 or possibly more recent) that can participate in driving on the track, but also the presence of merchants and exhibitors.

For years, a team of volunteers has been working hard to ensure the success of this cultural event. It takes place in the heart of the village. With around a hundred authors of all genres (literary, regional, thrillers, comics, travelers...), critics and journalists are always present. And then there are the readings and conferences held in courtyards shaded by plane mulberry trees. The event closes with a friendly glass of Côtes du Rhône wine, offered by local winemakers.

Lapalud is a humid plain which, at one time, was covered with fields of mulberry, madder and vines.

One day, a Lapalutian brought back sorghum seeds from the neighboring countryside which he planted on his property. Its cultivation was imposed, its flexible straw is very easy to handle and the inhabitants started to shape it and to use it as a broom. In the 1920's, Lapalud had four broom-making establishments; the sunny holidaymakers who travelled on the N7 used to stop there to buy them (Luis Mariano or Jean Nohain would have been seen there). But the glory of this small village disappeared the day when the Ponts et Chaussées had to divert the N7 which bypasses the town: no more brooms, brushes, feather dusters. Also arrived on the market the competition of the Eastern countries, the setting in circulation of the broom "heather of roadman" (the broom of witch) and the vacuum cleaner.

Since 2015, the municipality and the festival committee organize the first weekend of June the festival of brooms which includes a colorful foot race with or without broom, a petanque competition, a hike, musical entertainment and aperitifs. A convivial moment guaranteed.
