Opened in November 2022 on a small and lively square of the Cours Julien, this dance bar is a model of its kind, quite unique in the city: a place for all, without distinction of gender and sex, where tolerance and benevolence are the order of the day. The public is rather young but mixes during the night. The musical program is rather focused on electronic music. The customers feel good and not judged, we can only appreciate this kind of place which is widespread in Northern Europe but still too rare in our Mediterranean cities.

Halfway between the Palais Longchamp and the Réformés, a new bar has been opened to liven up the pleasant boulevard Longchamp. A beautiful, wide terrace for a new establishment opened by a young team eager to offer a place where having a drink rhymes with conviviality between friends and tasting aperitif platters on the go. It's a great concept and a real hit with a young clientele who have become fans of the restaurant's excellent cocktails. At lunchtime, we serve a burrata, a sandwich of the day and a few simple suggestions on the slate. A friendly, smiling welcome, a fine wine list and live music at weekends.

Le Cancan or New Cancan, depending on the name, is THE reference for gay clubbing in Marseille. Founded in 1991 by Michel Piacenza, it's just a stone's throw from the Canebière, and attracts a gay and gay-friendly clientele every Saturday in a supercharged atmosphere. In the 1970s, the creator of Le Cancan created one of the city's first openly gay bars. A pioneer in his field, the club is now well accepted as the only gay club in the city (surprising for France's second-largest city).

Justine opened her coffee shop after training as a barista and roaster, and working as an apprentice in Bordeaux, Madrid and Portugal. She roasts her beans on site, from Mexico, Ethiopia and Honduras. Each origin has a different flavor: full-bodied, balanced, full-bodied or light. The intermediary is a known place of all those who visit the plain of the plain at night. We'd think it's always been implanted there. He made a new skin a few months ago, not changing the concept. Concerts, djs and guaranteed accessibility for all parties and curious around the corner. The size of the site was slightly reduced since the floor is now no longer open. Exodus is in fact a religious organisation (Action Africa Asia) which organises a variety of events (exhibitions, meetings, lectures) including impressive enough concerts for those who know each other there a little. It is the kingdom of the world music in Marseille, constantly led by a dynamic team and engaged in the defence of the minority cultures.

Since 1984, the Julian space has been the reference for the Marseille Alternative Concert Hall. Located on the Ju course, the concert hall and coffee are musical spaces where Djs animate memorable evenings and the programmers take date for their artists. The Espace Julien can accommodate up to 1,000 people and remains one of the indispensable scenes for contemporary music. An eclectic programming that connects as much with hip-hop as rock, electro or text song. Over 30 years of existence and the Espace Julien did not take a ride: always familiar with national and international musical news. Some parties are free and on registration via the website, especially within the Julien Café, a more intimate space open to local producers and artists to meet their audience. Unavoidable!

Le Moulin is a former neighbourhood cinema and theatre, formerly known as the "Moulin bleu", not far from the enormous Dome. He has built up a reputation of esteem in the music world over the course of his previous programming, which has given the turners confidence. If you are told Noir Désir in Marseille in 1989, look no further, it was at the Moulin. Nick Cave, My Bloody Valentine, Tricky, Placebo, Oasis, Femi Kuti as well. Today, new premises, new gauge with 1,450 seats, and new programming. A club of 350 people offers DJ nights, not forgetting artistic and technical support for local artists (SMAC system).

You have to enter the beautiful Old Charity centre to find this tiny movie that is a pure wonder. Those who practise films otherwise than for "dragouiller" Columbine will be in angels. No Hollywood staff. Cinema often takes place by theme and we loved the week devoted to Asian cinema, with Pm's masterpieces, Jia Zhang or Hong Sang Soo.

From the same quality as its immediate Salsa Café neighbours, you can enjoy an extra evening on Saturday evening from 20 h, the restaurant. There you can enjoy an aperitif, a complete meal with wine and coffee included. Then, until 1 p. m. it's the hot salsa with even initiation, animations and demonstrations. Come to Bar Lounge Chang'an, this is an opportunity to discover a part open to all of Villa Massalia, hotel and bar, both under the theme of Asia. The Bazaar and the Palmeraie (in summer) are THE dance floor of the 8th, one of the most famous in the Phocaean city. In other words, the bouncers are not laughing at the entrance, the selection is tough. In the summer, the Bazaar settles outside, on its terrace, for outdoor parties at the Palmeraie. The Trendy, in agreement with its very evocative name, is a stone's throw from the Old Port, which offers a trendy decor, a rather chic atmosphere and a resolutely design framework. On the Quai Rive-Neuve proudly stands the Théâtre de La Criée, the national theater housed in Marseille's former fish market. A former meeting place for fishermen and fishmongers, it is now a mythical cultural meeting place under the sensitive, modern direction of Macha Makeïeff since 2011. According to its director, the theater is "a factory of images and the imaginary, open to all". Even today, the voices of this former market hall are heard loud and clear, its soul palpable and preserved. The interior comprises a large 800-seat auditorium with specially designed machinery, plus another 200-seat auditorium. On arrival, spectators enter a huge hall, a preface to contemporary theater and the most diverse forms of writing performed within it by the most singular thinkers.

Three years ago, the Mini-Theatre underwent significant transformations: renovation of the boxes and the technical grill. It is therefore in a technically more efficient and comfortable space that this small theatre of the shopping Cart welcomes artists and Spectators. In the image of La Wasteland, another wall theatre, located on the next number, with whom it shares the programming of the Lenche, the Mini reflects a cultural action associated with the life of the neighborhood. Theatres of entertainment, but also places of meetings with the public, dialogues with artistic teams, general rehearsals open to inhabitants of the 2nd arrondissement, moments of exchange on the essential issues that the show raises. This place is simply magical and Jimmy is a clown! Not only, it is the toys and games for children, but this shop is also entire reserved for the supply of the circus. It abounds in an incalculable number of objects including the common denominator is idyllic: dream of, juggling stilts or balance. This is the place to go for or that practices one of the numerous disciplines of the capital. But also the games and toys to old and collection, the magic, games and casino...

More spectacular, faster and even faster at night (on Fridays), the second largest racecourse in Marseille (after the one in Borély), created over 70 years ago, has more than 13,000 seats. The polytrack track allows higher speeds to be achieved. The racecourse has its flagship race, the Gaston Deferre Prize, which is held in June. Meetings are essentially galloping or mounted trotting races. The restaurant with its panoramic view is ideal for watching the races, very warm, especially since it is possible to bet without having to travel

The Marigny is a kind of small popular oasis in the chic neighborhood. There is a good feeling: the atmosphere is rather family-friendly, prices are very affordable, and the whole press (regional, sporting and national) as well as a tobacco flow. The owners of the sites welcome the long-awaited people with great smiles and small friendly ribbons in the back. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially recommended in summer to enjoy the terrace while not suffering from the cagnard!

The crowded establishment at the festival proves to be much calmer the rest of the year. We come here before you will pout for the deliciously shaded terrace that is suitable for discussions between friends with a drink. The chef, quiet, makes salads to small onions or small, simple dishes. A café that is especially worth the detour in summer for its situation far from urban unrest and for the fountain of the tune place Louis-Pasteur, in which we gladly trempe its feet. It is also popular with university students, who have only a few metres to do to rally it.

La Bohème is an "idyll" in the Alpilles, a rendez-vous in the heart of Baux-de-Provence! Ideally located on the pretty Place Sadi-Carnot with its fountain, just a stone's throw from the port, this café has been renowned for the past 7 years by Ciotadens for its excellent homemade waffles. But to sum up the place would be too simple, for here people come to enjoy brunch as much as natural wines (Loire, Rhône Valley, Provence, Vaucluse, Var...), as well as tasty dishes for lunch. In the kitchen, Lisa's talent shines through. At Le Petit Futé, you'll appreciate the relaxed, family atmosphere of the café, the lovely terrace and its truly Mediterranean ambience, as well as the coffee specialities on offer. A wide variety of fruit and vegetable juices, and an eco-friendly approach.

Opened in the summer of 2021, La Soifferie is attracting a lot of attention among the new bars in Marseille. A vintage decoration, a relaxed atmosphere that fits well with the Cours Julien district, people come here to taste delicious home-made cocktails, punches, a selection of craft beers or organic wines. A few small plates to go with it all and you're off to a great start to the evening. There is no doubt that at La Soifferie, it will not only be a question of thirst but also of moments of life.

Trendy coffee shop in the Opera district. A café that has become one of the most fashionable in the city. A neat decoration and in the air of time, plunging plants, light wood, space and a cosy feeling which already conquered more than one curious. Deïa's program includes coffee specialties, lattes (including amazing beet and charcoal colored ones), food from breakfast to lunch and the possibility of brunches all day long. Bowls, salads, healthy sandwiches, it's well done and totally in tune with the times. An address to discover and to adopt without delay. The only regret is that the atmosphere is a bit too "influencer" of the clientele, more busy taking pictures than having a good time.

Dimitri Tikhonkikh, a winegrower in Sannes in the Luberon, opened La Bonne Quille in Le Puy Ste Réparade, a few kilometers from Aix, with Hency, Cave and wine bar. The place is convivial, and it has to be said that the 2 partners are bon vivants. There's no fuss here, just sit out on the terrace around the barrels, or share the big table inside to enjoy a plate cooked by Dimitri or homemade tapas with a glass of wine. Great welcome, superb wines with Hency's advice, beers, spirits, delicatessen.

My Beers is, as its name suggests, a space entirely dedicated to beer. Blonde, brown, amber, hopped, roasted... you will find, on the displays of the store located in the new Shopping Promenade, an incredible choice of beers, from the most classic to the most original. The decor is warm, the atmosphere friendly. It is a perfect place for aperitifs with friends, around a tasting board that includes a sausage, a terrine and a Saint-Marcellin.
An excellent address.

At the bottom of the Cours Franklin-Roosevelt, a discreet address that deserves to be known, a few steps from the Réformés. Behind an attractive frontage, we enter a rather surprising café, with its counter and the smiling welcome of the owner, then a room in enfilade where you can enjoy your coffee, tea or pastry on a sofa or on cushions. A Zen place, which offers teas and herbal teas, ayurvedic infusions and homemade blends, some with CBD. On the pastry side, gluten-free, vegan, classic, all homemade by the chef, just like the quiches and cakes served for lunch. We like to spend a relaxing and greedy moment there.

Waw! A name which makes for a dream gay club. You can imagine the well connected and raging guys, locked in cages, very hot... Well, it is almost that! Especially during the evenings gogo' sexy S, transformists and kitsch party! The staff is very nice, dynamic, friendly, just like the boss, Laurent, who can create an atmosphere of festival that even attracts the straight ones of Avignon. Yes, because the Cage, even if it insists on its gay label "must", is not locked and on the contrary opens to the guys and the girls, provided that they are gay friendly! The club is large, pleasant, offers different areas and levels as large an upstairs solarium smoking which allows you to breathe when it is too hot here. And the atmosphere is often very hot!

Scene of Contemporary Music - Regional Espace de Rehearsal - Pôle Information Music…

The location is one of the references SMAC (current music scene). The Grenier à Sounds plays active eclecticism and there are for all trends: song, rock, metal or jazz, music of the world and electro… This place is not only a place of broadcast, it also offers a regional rehearsal area (studios, workshops…) and a music information center (resource center and advice specialized in the field of current music). Expos, a springboard for young trainings, artists'residences, the policy of this scene bears fruit and ensures an excellent reputation that it deserves.

This theatre was built in the early part of the s and was built in a different theme each year, with musical, musical and theatre performances. Internships, actions, interventions, literary cafés, readings are in a different way, rich programming. You can count on a different show per week. The bar is open every evening for an hour and a half before the shows.

Cherrydon is a rather famous concert hall in the region. For many years, it has mainly specialized in "tribute" concerts (Led Zeppelin, Sting...). Every month, the Cherry' develops a dense programming rather focused on rock and variety. The audience is rather composed of forty and fifty year olds, the atmosphere is good and without any headache. The look-alike shows (Sardou, France Gall...) are particularly appreciated. A nearby restaurant, the Comme à la maison, will welcome you in the early evening. A real piece of local popular culture, atypical. From time to time, American big names perform there.

Beautiful fin de siècle façade and large terrace on the Cours Jean-Jaurès. Le Siècle is a Mecca of Balmean life, where you can enjoy a morning café croissant, lunch from Monday to Friday, or start the evening with an aperitif. The brasserie-style à la carte menu includes daily specials, salad formulas, grilled meats... All cooked on site. Plates are copious, but you'll need to save a little room for dessert, which is served by the jug or with good local wine. Good value for money. Warm welcome.
