Neuilly-en-Sancerre has nothing to do with the Neuilly Parisian! Located in the Country Fort on the edge of Sancerrois, Neuilly-en-Sancerre is framed by the Great Sauldre to the east, a large forest in the west, grasslands to the south and ruins of the castle of the lords of Beaujeu to the north. Many potters settled in this tiny commune. The church Saint-Martial, which dates from Roman times, can be admired in the small village. The choir dates back to the xiith century and the chapel dates from the nineteenth century. The church houses tombstones of the sixteenth century.
