Nicknamed the "Venice of Berry", Argenton-sur-Creuse is a welcoming little town that enjoyed its heyday in the 19th century with the shirt-making industry. Its picturesque town center, old wheel mills and old houses with galleries and balustrades give it an undeniable charm. Two museums can be visited: the Musée de la Chemiserie, the town's living memory, where you can learn about the work of the shirtmakers, and the Musée archéologique d'Argentomagus in Saint-Marcel, two kilometers west of the center of Argenton. The ruins of an ancient feudal castle, destroyed by order of Richelieu, can also be found here.
