The village of Sens-Beaujeu is characterized by witchcraft: in the Middle Ages, a trial for heresy had indeed occurred in the castle. On that occasion, small villagers and their families were tortured, subjected to the question, and eventually burned in public in the village. The story tells us that a child who threw a stone in the Rivière de Sens-Beaujeu shouting the devil's name contaminated the waters, making her little cousin who played there sick. The little sick person told his family that she was in the Church. Without knowing it, this child drove his family on the logger. The members of his family were arrested. This episode is known as the Carking of Marlou. You can still admire Beaujeu Castle and Saint-Caprais Church whose origins go back to the thirteenth century.
