Located between Vannes and Auray, Plougoumelen borders the municipalities of Plescop, Mériadec, Auray, Le Bono, Baden and Ploeren. To the west, it borders the Pont-Sal inlet, which deploys exceptional landscapes from the coastal path or the sites of Kerblei and Traon. Apart from a few scattered megalithic remains, the village has a so-called "double Celtic" cross ("twin" crosses linked by the same base and carved). Unfortunately, its origin has not been clarified, but it has been classified. Located about 1 km from there, you can also discover the hamlet of Cahire, which includes a set of old farmhouses with thatched roofs, typical of traditional rural housing.
