Numerous finds prove that Dehlingen was already inhabited in prehistoric times. Dehlingen was later occupied by the Romans, as evidenced by the discovery of numerous remains of walls, tiles, bricks, coins and more. Even a ring and a divine bronze statuette were found! Today, the town boasts a number of attractions: superb 16th-century houses, some with Schop(Schopfhuss), the Jewish cemetery created around 1830 and now abandoned, the archaeological site of the Gallo-Roman villa at Gurtelbach to the north and the Dehlingen Archaeological Heritage Interpretation Center, a must-see!
