(La Loire) In order to remind our memory of our revolving funds on the benches of the school and the maps hanging on the table, we will have just to indicate a number: 1 020. It is the number of kilometres that this watercourse (the longest in France) travels before meeting the ocean. The region is honoured by the visit of the river to the Massif Central-de-Rush (1 551 m, another key figure!). It offers a end of its path to Saône-et-Loire after its crossing of Roanne and the crossing of two dams (those of Grangent and Villerest). From the south of Iguerande, it winds over 30 km before setting up the border between the departments of the Allier and Saône-et-Loire departments over kilometres. La Loire crosses the capital, Nevers, and a series of towns such as Cosne-sur-Loire or Pouilly-sur-Loire. By leaving the Burgundy, the Loire has more air of large currents with multiple arms than an imposing river. Among its tributaries, the Bourbince, Bremen, the Arconce, the Arroux, which passes through Autun and Gueugnon, lick the hills of Morvan, and the Ternin enjoys the magnificent décor offered to it by the Morvan natural park.
