Laknas/Laknasi has a population of around 5,000. It belongs to the municipality of Kamëz/Kamza and the district of Tirana. It lies 11 km from Tirana, at the junction of roads SH 1, for Tirana airport and Kruja, and SH 2, for Durrës. It can be reached by bus on the L7 urban line. This large semi-rural village on the outskirts of Tirana is well known to the French and British police: the biggest gangs of migrant smugglers across the Channel come from Laknas... But that's not why we're telling you about it here. As it happens, Laknas is home to one of the nicest restaurants in the greater Tirana area.
