Codroipo is a municipality of the Friulian plain whose territory is characterized by the presence of resurgent streams. In the Parco delle Risorgive, at the exit of the town, the water surfaces after having gone underground. But if you stop in Codroipo, it is mainly to visit Villa Manin, in Passariano, 3 km from the city center. This pharaonic villa, surrounded by a beautiful park, was the residence of the last doge of Venice. Napoleon stayed here in 1797 and it was the setting for the signing of the Treaty of Campoformio which formalized the annexation of Venice and its Adriatic possessions to Austria.
