Travel Guide Spiez

Spiez (12,800 inhabitants), dominated by its magnificent 12th century castle, is built on the southern shore of Lake Thun between hills and vineyards. The town enjoys a very favourable climate, with a large number of sunny days throughout the year. Most of its summer tourist activity is based on the magnificent lake and its surroundings: fishing, water sports, boating, lake bathing from the open-air swimming pool, walking or cycling around the lake... In town, the discovery of the castle and its church are to be preferred. Also worth seeing: the Heimat- und Rebbaumuseum and its temporary exhibitions.
