The literal translation of the village's name would be "Sans Nom"(nam = name, los = without). Today, however, it is more likely from historical sources that the name Namlos comes from a settler called Amel, a name that evolved into Namels, then finally Namlos. It was first mentioned in official documents in 1286. This tiny village of around 80 inhabitants is just 20 minutes from the popular ski resorts. Namlos is perched at an altitude of 1,264 meters, surrounded by mountains, cycling routes and hiking trails. Namlos is reached via the attractive road through Stanzach.
