The village, which comprises the two districts of Unterpinswang and Oberpinswang, lies close to the German border, which can be crossed to explore the nearby Bavarian castles of Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein. Pinswang also lies on the ancient Via Claudia Augusta, a Roman road dating from the 1st century AD that linked the Rhétie region to the Po plain across the Alps. Today, a cycle path has been laid out along the route, making it possible to take a leisurely stroll along the Lech from Füssen in Bavaria to Pinswang on two wheels. Some equipped climbing routes.
