In the heart of the Kaunergrat nature park, the village of Sankt Leonhard enjoys an idyllic setting, nestled among some of Tyrol's highest mountains. In summer, hikers set off to explore the park, criss-crossed by trails, and the Rifflsee gondola takes them to the artificial lake of the same name. In winter, the ski slopes are within easy reach thanks to an 8-minute lift ride to the Pitztal glacier at an altitude of 2,840 m, or to the Rifflsee station. Sledging, cross-country skiing, glacier climbing and hiking, parachuting - there's plenty to do here in every season.
