Another stop on the Eagle's Nest Road, integrated in its route for the simple reason that it is one of its oldest settlements. The presence of a lordly property here is attested as early as the 12th century, in the person of the knight Niemierzy. Little is known about its original castle, except that it was always rather modest and included a church before being ravaged by successive invasions. Today only parts of the walls remain. The village was also a front line area during the Second World War and still has traces of trenches on its hillside as well as a small military cemetery.
