Peaceful village of more than 1,500 inhabitants, only 6 km north of Valladolid. It is located at an altitude of almost 750 metres, between vineyards and cereal fields. In the town centre, its castle (15th century), one of the best preserved in the province, is flanked by a 34-metre high tower. Formerly the seat of the Parliament of Castile and Leon, it now houses a museum that traces the history of the province's 24 castles through different models. Fuensaldaña is also a pleasant stopover on the Cicada Wine Route. Here you can visit traditional wineries where you can learn about the entire winemaking process.
