Known as the city of Suvorov, Kobryn is 40 km from Brest. It was founded in the th century by Prince Izyaslav I on the edge of the river Moukhavets. During the Polish-Lithuanian state it was the capital of the Principality of Kobryn until its accession to the Russian Empire. In 1795, Catherine II offered the Faubourg de Kobryn to Generalissimo Alexandre Suvorov for a few years. In 1846, the city underwent further development with the construction of the Moscow-Warsaw road. During World War II, Kobryn lost more than 30% of its infrastructure. Rebuilt in the 1950 s, it is a fine example of post-war Stalinist architecture.By bus. Several buses departing from Brest. A 30 minute journey.
