With its 5,000 inhabitants, Lefkimmi is one of the largest villages on the island of Corfu. The village has not been developed for tourism and still retains its ancient structure and traditions. The first impression may not be very positive, as the buildings here are dilapidated and not very well maintained compared to other tourist villages. Is this a sign of authenticity? At the same time, the place is really charming and still retains its old traditions: you'll see old women with donkeys, old gentlemen drinking ouzo in the local bars and a wonderful surrounding countryside.
