This village, located about thirty kilometres from Saint-Louis, is a charming place with sandy streets built around a beautiful mosque. Few tourists pass through there and yet, the detour is well deserved. Founded in the 1960s, this village was part of a development project launched by the Senegalese army. The aim of this construction site school was to build the infrastructure necessary to provide a living for the people and an agricultural training centre to combat the rural exodus. In 1966, after years of work, the site was "liberated" and the village became autonomous. Some village elders were among the young workers.
