Also about ten kilometres from Saint-Louis, Guembeul has a beautiful 720 ha reserve, to visit for those who do not have the opportunity to visit the Niokolo Koba National Park (eastern Senegal) or the Bandia Private Reserve (Petite Côte). Two hours is enough to see a maximum, but we can stay all day if we want. We will be able to observe oryx algazelle, dama mhou gazelles, land turtles, warthogs, desert monitors, monkeys patas (red monkeys), but also thousands of birds including flamingos and spatulas. The visit can be done on foot or by car. From now on, guides are mandatory, they are located at the entrance of the park. Ask Yamar, the president of the northern ecoguards, he knows the species of the reserve perfectly, in addition to being friendly.
