Perched at 950 meters above sea level, in the heart of the Prades mountain range, the former capital of the county of Prades owes its nickname of vil-la vermella to the many reddish stone buildings that it houses. With a population of less than 700 inhabitants, it is worth visiting the old town center and especially the church dedicated to the Virgin Mary in the Plaça Major. But Prades is above all an excellent starting point for a family outing to the surrounding mountains and valleys. We recommend a stop at the tourist office to find out about the various cycling and hiking routes.
