Named after General Sir James Kempt, Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia from 1820 to 1828, the small community of Kemptville also includes North Kemptville (Municipality of Yarmouth) and East Kemptville (Municipality of Argyle). Because of the many waterways in the area, the Kemptville region is a major sport fishing area. East Kemptville is known for its upscale Trout Point Lodge, which offers peace, nature, outdoor activities, luxury accommodations and fine dining. To get there, take Highway 1 from Yarmouth, then 340 and 203.
