Maya Beach is the gateway to the Placencia peninsula. It's a small village offering mainly luxury accommodation, such as the Placencia Hotel & Resort, but not exclusively. The offer has recently expanded to include private individuals renting out their apartments or houses via the now well-known internet platforms. Apart from the accommodation, Maya Beach doesn't offer much in the way of interest, apart from the beaches hidden by the hotels that line the seafront. Allow around 20 minutes by car to reach Placencia Village, at the other end of the peninsula.
