Be careful not to confuse the inland Blue Hole National Park with the world-famous Great Blue Hole diving site off the coast of Belize. In 2005, the authorities added St. Herman's to the park's name, so as not to confuse it with its marine namesake. A visit to the park immerses you in lush jungle and reveals two sites with unique natural features: St. Herman's Cave and its cenote-like blue hole, which gives the park its name and makes it so successful, not to mention its plant and animal populations, which are also well worth a visit.
